Well, it's been a while since GT's best forum had one of these topics (I think...). So um... what are you favourite PS2 games? Also if you don't mind give a reason why. Mine are:
1. Suikoden III
Developed and Published By Konami
To put it into simple words, Suikoden III is the best game I have played this generation. Yes, thats out of any PS2/GCN/Xbox game. Great characters, great story, good graphics, good battle systems (there were 3 of them!). I really don't see how anyone could have missed out on this if they consider themselves an RPGer. (Unless they couldnt afford it up to this point... but it's now been discontinued anyway...). Outstanding game.
2. Kingdom Hearts
Developed by Squaresoft, Published by Square EA
Honestly when I first saw this game I thought it would be crap because it had Disney characters in it. Well, one shouldn't be too quick to judge. Even though I liked Suikoden III a lot more, this game was nearly as fun. I really liked the story, and the characters! (yes, even the Disney ones). It had a really cool action/RPG battle system, which was a nice change from the standard RPG battle systems. I really enjoyed this game.
3. Legaia 2: Duel Saga
Developed by Contrail, Published by Eidos' Fresh Games
I never played the original Legend Of Legaia. My friend DarkMaster had it, and he said it was a really good game with an awesome battle system. So I trusted his word and thought that picking up this game would be a no brainer. And he was right. This game has a really cool battle system, you combine moves for attack combos and such, really fun. Even though I haven't even beat this game yet... (almost half way done...). It's still one of the better PS2 games I've played and is worthy of being on the list.
4. Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht
Developed by Monolith Soft, Published by Namco
I just picked this game up today, I'm only 2 hours into it. But, from what I've played, it seems like it will be nearly as good as Suikoden III, if not better. The battle system is pretty cool from what I've experienced so far, and it's been fun to play, so it deserves to be on the list for now.
5. Final Fantasy X
Developed by Squaresoft, Published by Square EA
I'm pretty sure this one is self explanatory, as most people probably own it and have beat it. Although I didn't enjoy it as much as other Final Fantasies (like FF7 and FF6), it's still one of the best games on PS2. I loved the sphere grid system and the customization it had.
I can also predict that games like Dark Cloud 2, Breath Of Fire V (Breath Of Fire III on PSX = ownage), and Star Ocean 3 will end up on my list once release. Plus many of the other RPGs coming out this year and next year.
