New Info on Syphon Filter 4 and Jak and Daxter II

Well these tidbits are from the new GameInformer magainze, I have yet to receive my issue, but I got the notes from posters at IGN and Gaming-age.

ANY WORLD YOU SAW IN RATCHET AND CLANK LOOKS SMALL COMPARED TO THESE!!!

I really dont see any bump-mapping, but im sure there is time for stuff like that.

Jak appears to have some weapons this time around. Says "You can switch between hand-to-hand tactics and weapons in the blink of an eye, allowing you to form a ton of cool combos."

In addition to that, apparently, the game willn't be called Jak and Daxter 2 but Jak II or something like that.

Hopefully, someone posts scans of the magazine.

You are in a city similar to GTA and can walk or ride on a vehicle. You are given mission from other people and must complete them. By doing this, you unlock new moves, stages, guns, and many more. There are 16 levels total that connect to the city you're in. The game will also now feature CGI's.



The shooting gallery will allow you to train with a variety of weapons and compete for high score marks. Check out the bullet holes in the wall.

Baron Praxis' Crimson guard will shoot at you as you cruise through the city. The good this is, you can shoot back

collect 100 dark eco pellets, and you'll transform into Dark Jak, who is invincible, and has a completely unique move set

Anyhow, I like Jak's new look, he sure has aged a whole lot, and he is a bad ass with a gun.

SICK! I will most definately rent this game if it comes out after Ratchet and CLank 2... but if it is before.. then I think a purchase might just happen.

Here are some new scans, you can read some of the article in the pics, it talks about Jak II going for a darker atmosphere, a bit about how it will be darker, Jak is out for revenge, he gets beat up at the begnning and I think someone is hurt. It also talks about the fact that the level design has changed as you no longer collect ecos or whatever, but each level and it's mission ties into the plot of the game.

Well, I just got the magazine itself, I'm just glancing over it real quick, but I saw a pic of Dark Jak, he looks sweet as hell. And he got claws of some form.

I'll post more when I read the articles, also some stuff on Syphon Filter.

Some details from the Syphon Filter article

-The game has been in development for like 2 years
-This will be the final chapter in the series (There might be spinoffs)
-Gabe Logan (hero and star of the first 3 games) willn't be playable, but still prove to be a pivotal character
-None of the prior characters in the series will be playable
-You must create the main character of the game
Options you can cutsomize:
Gender, Skin Tone,Face, Shape, Hair Style, Hair Color, Eye, Beard, Beard Color, Body Size, Jacket,Shirt, Tie, Pants, Boots, Hair,Eyewear, Camo Paint
-Story seems to be that a new virus has broken out in Toronto and other parts of the world
-Will feature a cooperative online play
-Online play will be similar to the single player game, but with more emphasis on the teamwork
-Doesn't seem to be any deathmatch type game modes.

I liked Jak and Daxter so I hope number 2 will be good, Syphon Filter 4 sounds okay but I never really got in the series
