Japanese gaming site Quiter has reported that Square/Enix will be delaying the release of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for an undisclosed period of time. The reason for the delay is apparently an unsatisfactory battle system which is not up to the quality standards of Square/Enix. Crystal Chronicles was orginally slated to be released for the GameCube in Japan during the Spring of 2003 and would have been Square/Enix's first effort for the system to date.

As of yet, a new release timeframe for the game has not been set. However, it was stated that much of the battle system might be reworked, to the point of contradicting previous news and articles about it, which could take a significant period of time.
Interesting news. Delays are annoying but they can only mean one thing, better results. It may not be a 2003 game after all...

I don't mind delays. And I can't wait for this game. I love Squaresoft games

well I expected it to get delayed like every other of nintendos games. Bobcat sounded like yoda...... I'm curious too about what the battle system will be like now if it isn't like all the other final fantasy's. Oh yeah one more thing Bluefire where do you keep getting that cool art for your sigs and avatars?

With Square and Enix and their picky ways of making this game. This might become one of the best RPGs.

Well, kinda. You did know that Square and Enix are merging, right? FF:CC is actually being made by a subsidary of Squaresoft, so I'm not sure if Enix is involved or not. But future titles will.

Isn't it being made by a team composed of Nintendo and Square developers? This is the Fund Q project right? I dont think Enix will be working on this.

Invovled in Square's games? The only one I know of is Chrono Trigger. Yuji Hori, the guy who created the Draqon Quest series, was involved with CT, along with that guy who created FF, and Akira Toriyama.

And Enix has never been involved in Square's FF games.

They atcually didn't have much involvement in Chrono Trigger. The guy who created Dragon Quest was one of the producers, that's all.
