Reservoir Dogs Game Announced
Yes, as in the movie. Details inside.
March 07, 2003 - As part of it's recent spate of movie based game announcements, SCi Games has revealed that they're working on a game adaptation of the critically acclaimed Quentin Tarantino Film, Reservoir Dogs.
For those of you unfamiliar with the film, Reservoir Dogs takes place in the aftermath of a failed diamond heist. The six perpetrators, who know each other only by their color coded nicknames, realize that one of their number must have betrayed them. But who?
SCi promises that the game will remain dutifully faithful to the film. It'll be interesting to see how they do this, since the film limits most of it's action to a few brief scenes. Along with film's several shootouts, a number of driving sequences are apparently also in the works, as well as multiplayer deathmatches. SCi has also let slip that you'll not only be able to play as any of the six Mr. Colors, but also as "key policemen," which hopefully means "the guy who gets his ear taken off."
"SCi has considerable experience in developing successful computer games based on strong movie plots, such as The Italian Job and The Great Escape." Said Jane Cavanagh, Chief Executive of SCI. "Reservoir Dogs has a remarkable following within the gaming community. The whole company relishes this exciting opportunity."
The release date for Reservoir Dogs is still up in the air. We'll keep you updated on any new developments regarding the game as they appear.
