Big happenings in the NFL of late.

the Chargers signed david boston
the Falcons traded their first round pick for Peerless Price
the Broncos signed Jake Plummmer
the Bears tendered a contract to Kordell Stewart
the Panthers signed Jake Delome
the Giants cut Jason Sehorn

The draft is still a month away, but the free agents are starting to move. What are your thoughts?

Id like to comment on Kordell Stewart and the Bears, which is the only one of those that really concerns my intrests much, Steelers being my favorite team and the Bears being my second fav team. While Stewart has been inconsistent, especially come playoff time, he led Pittsburgh to a 13-3 season in 2001, and led them to the super bowl a few years before that, and if he can get back into his top form, he can and will lead the Bears to the playoffs, maybe further.

Chicago is stupid...they should have drafted Leftwich with their 4th(?) overall pick.

Anyway, you forgot that Takeo Spikes has been offered a deal by the Bills...and that unless Cincy matches the offer, he will be in Buffalo next year.

Oh, and San Diego signed Larenzo Neal (possibly the best fullback in the leage). Can you imagine him blocking for LaDainian Tomlinson  Then the play action opens up David Boston. The Chargers offense might be scary next year...

Let's see...The Eagles lost Brian Mitchell, lost Shaun Barber, will lose Hugh Douglas, and signed John Ritchie (ooh that really makes up for it. Anyway, I know we still have a decent team, but I really have no super bowl hopes whatsoever. We didn't add a threat at WR, or at MLB...eh, let's go Phillies.

That's what I wanted to do, but the more I think about it, the last thing we need is another injury prone qb. Sign stewart, draft Suggs with the #4 and then get Kyle Bowler in the second round.

Just wait. Free agency has just begun, and there are a lot of RESTRICTED free agents out there and the Eagles have a LOT of room under the cap.

the Eagles also released SS Blaine Bishop  I guess they want to get rid of his salary so they can sign a big free agent.

The Colts signed a couple no-name defensive players who coach Dungy will take under his wing and make good players out of, but they don't seem to be making any other moves. Hopefully they'll draft a WR first round to compliment Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne.

Blaine Bishop is TRASH. You wanna know why Jurevicious went 85 yards in the Tampa game? That's right, Blaine Bishop. Besides, Michael Lewis is a great young player who should have been playing that game anyway last year. SS isn't a concern.

Blaine Bishop does suck, but the reason why Jurevicious went 85 yards was because they scraped him against Barry Gardener. Now that man sprouted roots in the Tampa Bay game.

I don't expect Gardener to run with Jur, but the rule of thumb with linebackers defending the pass across the middle is the following:

"If the man comes across your face, he wll see 3 things: Your facemask, the turf and then stars."

Ok, but even with Gardner covering, he shouldn't have gotten past our safeties. I also think Bishop had some blown coverage on the Keyshawn TD, but that's in the past....I guess....it still hurts. :(
