Electronic Arts unveils Rising Sun for next-gen consoles, with a new PC title due to be confirmed later today

12:59 Glad tidings for FPS fans today, with new Medal of Honor titles heading to console and PC formats. PS2, Xbox and GameCube owners can look forward to Medal of Honor: Rising Sun this Autumn in the US, which tackles the Allies' struggle against the Japanese in WWII.

Rising Sun will be the first part of a two-part MOH adventure on console, tracking the exploits of the Griffin Brothers in the war. Players control Joe Griffin in Rising Sun, before slipping into the uniform of brother Donny for part two, due Autumn 2004.

Rising Sun is set to be formally announced alongside a new PC follow-up to Allied Assault later today. We'll bring you full details and first shots as soon as we receive them.

The Medal of Honor series is known for its supremicy in audio engineering...fantastic musical score and unparalelled in-game sound. I can't wait for Rising Sun, as well as its sequel, along with the PC title. More news as it hits...

ok so i'm excited as I would like to see another MOH game on PS2...:p

There was a MOH game with fighter planes that was cancelled awhile back that I would like to see...SO hearing any info about this game is great.

Here's a little update, with some screens:

Electronic Arts announced they will release Medal of Honor: Rising Sun for PlayStation 2 in Japan and US this Autumn. The series has sold over 6 million copies worldwide, in this game the fierce battle takes place in 1941, at the Pacific Ocean where the battle between Japanese empire army and U.S. army was unfolded.

And when ea ports it to xbox they won't make any improvements and it'll still be jagirific. Great.

Looks good! I think I might have to rebuy or rent Frontline just before this game is released to get back into the MOH mood!
