View Full Version : Bucks trade Ray Allen for Gary Payton
It seems as though the Bucks have officialy traded Ray Allen for Gary Payton, and a few other players.
There are also rumors going around that the Bucks are trying to trade Sam Cassel for Latrell Sprewell.
All I have to say is that: I have finally learned most of the names of the Bucks players, and then you just have to trade them all away don't you Milwaukee! Grrr! Also, I feel really bad for the fifty or so kids at my school that own Ray Allen jerseys. :(

Bad deal for the Bucks...
Ray Allen is MUCH younger and has a better shot...Gary Payton is one of the top point guards in the league, tho...but he's getting old

LOL. Payton still has another five good years out of him. The Bucks got a better deal... plus mason, too! This is certainly a big trade, and I was really shocked when I found this out earlier in the day.

I think this is one of the more even trades in history... but Bucks will probably get the best of it.
The Sonic's simply don't need another SG, I mean, mr Barry is already good enough... now they are going to bench him for Ray Allen?
Just to make it more simple... Allen isn't one of the top 5 players at his position, and Payton is a top 3 player at his position. Despite age, I say the Buck got the better deal for now.
The thing is, Allen has much more room to grow.... 5 years from now Sonics will be getting the last laugh.

The Bucks are a huge threat in the East now, especially if they get Spree. No Ray Allen, but Payton, Mason, and Spreewell? Watch out. The Bucks got the better of this, no doubt. The Bucks always got into the playoffs and lost, so they made some key changes, makes sense to me. On a side note, I'm surprised that the Sixers didn't make a trade, the whole goddamn team was on the trading block...oh well, our team is decent.
I think the whole thing about the Bucks trading Sam Cassel for Sprewell was just a rumor. Considering the trading deadline is over, and I haven't heard any more news about it here.

Payton is 33 years old...not everyone stands strong into their late 30's like Malone, Stockton and Mike. I highly doubt the Bucks will win a Championship in the next few years...they should keep guys like Allen around so that IN a few years, they'll have their team built up and will have one more star player in their prime (Allen).
I'll eat my words when the Bucks win a Championship with Payton...

Don't worry, Stu. The bucks won't win a championship any time soon... Although they got a hell of a coach! And now I can see the glove getting the start... Just because of how Cassel has bee playing, and the relationship between Karl/Payton.

they may not win a championship, but in that weak eastern conference I'm sure they could make a bid for the easter conference championship withing the next 3 years.

this just in:
In Ray Allen's first appearance as a Sonic, he throws up 26 points, grabs 13 boards and adds 9 helpers.
He almost lit up the Lakers with a triple...
;)

Thats cause the lakers are playing like the lakers now... and the fact that kobe is putting up at least 40 a game... while usually shootin at 50 or jus above or below 50%... doesnt help any other team..
