I like Canada too. I'm been living here for over 2 weeks now on business. Very nice people, excellent coffee and beer and the best strip clubs I've ever been to.

Happy?:D

...If I reply, we're just asking for a flame war. Actually, this whole topic is asking for a flame war. What the hell is this about anyways? Canada not fighting in the war? We dont need the 5 tanks and few men they could provide...if thats what this is about. I wont say anything more.

If I'm not mistaken Canada has 55,000 troops I think. Plus, Canada has always had excellent special forces going back as far as WW2 I believe, when they took out the artillery on D-Day by climbing a sheer cliff to get to them.

While Canada isn't the country to send in for an all out gfround offensive, they are quite good at completing important strtegic assignments.

Plus they drink good beer ;)

I'm mainly working like a damn dog. I'm here on business, but I get away most nights to go out on the town. My vendor takes me out to the clubs and pubs and the women are SO friendly:D

I went ot the Falls, which was underwhelming. I also went to Toronto and got lost repeatedly. Canada has the worst road marking EVER. I can't find the QEW to save my life, as the only signs for it appear to be on the QEW.

I love Tim Horton's, it is the Mecca of Coffee. I love Ex:D

Professor S

I'm in St. Catharines right now, doing a marketing Campaign for Verizon Communications. I'm setting up a shop here. Hard work but its going very well so I should be getting a fat promotion out of it along with a nice raise.

If it works out I'll be up here in Canada a lot opening up more shops. I have to wear a tie though, which sucks.

I won't mind it too much though, as I've met a great girl. Hopefully I'll be like a sailor and have a different girlfriend at every shop I open. :D

The Duggler

Professor S

Actually it dates back to WW1, when Canada:
1. Made the first poison gas attack at Ypres
2. Won the battle through mud at Passchendaele
3. let's not forget the glorious victory of Vimy Ridge

And I'm pretty sure we have more than 55,000 troops, over 600 000 Canadians served in WW1 alone (although that includes other miltary serivces such as the Navy), and that was over 80 years ago.

Professor S
02-17-2003, 04:21 PM
I said that because I was watching a Canadian news show recently and they said the Canadian Military had 55,000 troops. Maybe they were just talking about one area of the military though.

Joeiss
02-17-2003, 04:30 PM
During the War years, Canada had a sweet military. Now, we have about 55,000 men, like Strangler said.

And the Battle for Vimy Ridge was not glorious, Crono. That was one of the worst battles (death wise) that Canada has fought.

DarkMaster
02-17-2003, 04:35 PM
Why dont we pose this question instead: Who has greater health care?

It's always about military power when it comes to discussions like these, unfortunately some of you seem to forget that Canada has the best health care system in the world, and its because of that that we have little money for military.

and what about America's health care? To be frank, it sucks. Canada, Japan, most of Europe, among others, all have better health care systems than America. The USA might have the strongest military in the world, but IMO, I prefer excellent health care.

no battles are truly glorious, but it was a triumph for Canada, and a major boost in morale. This battle proved to the world that we can fight, and therefor it is worth noting.

The topic is titled "Canada vs USA" and the question was who has the greatER health care system, not the greatEST, so using simple logic it was clearly only between USA and Canada.

And I don't think having a great health care system counts when it's a loser country like Isreal.

Didn't the Muslim states around Israel take it over only a couple days after the UN/England/USA created Israel? Then they had to rely on US made stuff to fight them back.

I think that is what happened... Might be wrong, though.

Professor S

Isreal basically took back the land that they lost and more to send a message that they Islamic states shouldn't try it again. Thats what I thought happened anyway.

That is what happened and Palestine has been bitching about it
ever since. And let's not forget when they destroyed Egypt's air
force while it was sitting on the ground.

If you can offer any explanation to me as to why Israel is a "loser" country instead of just blurting it out with no reason, I won't deem you an ignorant fool. Deal? :)

I was watching Crossfire today, and I figured out why other countries do not like the USA. It is because you people are so ignorant. On Crossfire, the guy with the bowtie said something about the French, and then he goes "ribbit ribbit" on NATIONAL TELEVISION! My brother and I just looked at eachother and were shocked. The worst part of all, is that he was laughing, and the whole audience was laughing as well.

Wow. This is probably why there are many anti-American groups in France.

My dad doesn't like the guy with the bow-tie (he's the only one I know who watches that show)... And he also adds that "You can't take a person seriously when they're wearing a bow-tie"... :hmm:

Yeah, our planes were destroyed sitting on the tarmac. They had
been moved out of the hangars so that they could be under
constant observation. There was a lot of paranoia over Japanese
sabotage and they believed they would be safer out in the open.
Oops. We did manage to get some airbourne but nowhere near
enough to mount any kind of defense.

On the other hand, Egypt's ENTIRE air force was destroyed not just one squadron.

Professor S
02-19-2003, 08:44 AM
But I guess Egypt didn't do anything to deem that response right? I always laugh whenever people start quoting the actions of Isreal out of context without even attempting to explain the situation surrounding those actions.

I blame Isreal for NOTHING. This is a people that have spent their entire existence with various people trying to kill their entire race because of their religion. They went into Isreal, everyone tried to kill them, and they kicked their asses, AND GOOD FOR THEM. Isreal has their enemies living in their own country, not across the Atlantic ocean like us. I'd be a little trigger happy too.

You would think the Palestinians would take a hint. They attack Isreal, Isreal counter attacks with 10 times the force and takes more land... repeat for the last 50 years. Isreal even gave lands back, and Palestine decided to use that to attack Isreal more. Wow... they're brilliant.

If you really think that Isreal is whats wrong with the Middle East, you really aren't paying attention to history over the long haul. The Middle East has been battling one another for thousands of years, Isreal is just the flavor of the month if you look at the history as a whole. These are countries that have UNLIMITED RESOURCES (Oil), and many have failed to get out of the Middle Ages and tribal systems. They do not help one another in times of need, in fact they do the exact opposite. When the Taliban were removed from power in Afghanistan, who nearly all the other Middle Eastern countries hated, who fed their starving people? THE WEST. All the oil rich countries sat on their asses and askeed what we were going to do about those poor people. You make fun of Isreal when its pointed out that they have the best health care in the world, when most of the countries surrounding them have NO healthcare AT ALL. Wake up.

The Middle East will go down in history as a collosal failure of modern civilization. All trhe resources, ZERO conviction to do anything with it.

Wow, now THATS what I call going off on a tangent. :D

Smuggletrain
02-19-2003, 03:37 PM
I don't know about going on a tangent , but it shows a lack of
reading comprehension. How did you arrive at the idea that I am
anti- Israeli?
I'm very pro-Israel, they know how to win a war. They knew war
was unavoidable and decided to strike first. Here's a link to some
details on the six days war.
