The lead for Shenmue II says more Ryo Hazuki adventures are on the way.

The man responsible for bringing Yu Suzuki's Shenmue II to the Xbox, Shin Ishikawa, revealed in an online interview (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/features/interviews/am2/) that not only is Shenmue III in the works but intimated that said Shenmue title will in fact make its way to Xbox.

In response to questions about the next chapter in the Shenmue story, Ishikawa first confirmed that Shenmue III will continue Ryo's adventures in China as suggested at the end of Shenmue II. Ishikawa then made the following promise: "So, I would like to say to the fans: please look forward to more Shenmue games on Xbox." in response to the next level.com's question about the potential for "dwindling interest" in the series.

Sega of America offered no comment on the rumors about Shenmue III other than "nothing has been announced at this time."

While Ishikawa didn't offer a timetable for a Shenmue III release, the confirmation that there are plans for such a game and that Xbox owners can expect more Shenmue for that system is a close enough correlation to cause excitement among dedicated Shenmue fans. IGN will have more on any and all Shenmue games for the Xbox as information becomes available.

I think this was quite obvious.

Too bad there isn't more info on the game.

Yeah, not suprised... except the fact that Shin was talking about it instead of Yu.

Well, maybe Yu's too hard at work on it. :D

Well, I didnt read your post, but I read awhile ago (after #2 was released) that even with the poor sales of it, they would release their next chapter (they didnt say last, but they didnt hint at more) as a movie kind of, that ends all the loose ends, and would be totaly CG. Probably to save money.

"Sega's development studio AM2 stated that no Shenmue III film is currently scheduled. The company explained in a message on its Website that it is rather useless to make a film while there is no game (yet). The latest title in the series,Shenmue II, is available on the Xbox."

I think that there is a good chance that there will be a Shenmue 6 or something like that. Hopefully, it doesn't get to that though.
I'm still working on 2.

Unfortunately no. Yu said III would be the last.

Anyways, it looks like I'm going to need an X-Box, cuz Shenmue is the GOAT. I HAVE TO GET THIS GAME...

I was extremely disappointed with Shenmue II for Xbox (sub-par graphics, terrible voice-acting, etc). If Yu Suzuki builds Shenmue III for Xbox from the absolute ground up, and takes as much advantage of the Xbox hardware as possible, we could have a possible game of the year (whatever year that will be).

Well Shenmue IIX was pretty much a port from the DC, it really just has English voices and a few other extras...

BTW, where in A-Ville do you in North, South, or in the village?

I find it funny that a game that got excelent scores onDC for it's excelet graphics get horrid scores on Xbox for it's "sub-par" graphics.

Furthur proof that DC probably could never compete in this generation.

DC's games would've kept it alive. The other systems still haven't come close to DC.
