It's yet another bad week for Gamecube which only managed to sale 1,657 units. Where as Xbox sold 5,235 units which is 3.1 Xbox's to every Gamecube. Not that it's any thing to shout about as PS2 rolled in at 15,488 units thats 2.9 PS2's to every Xbox and a huge 9.3 PS2's to every Gamecube.
UK hardware sales for the week ending January 25 are in, with all the major hardware manufacturers suffering expected drops in unit sales. Proportionally, sales are largely consistent with the soaring figures achieved over the Christmas period, but while market leader PS2 was hovering around the dizzying height of 100,000 sales per week in late 2002, that figure is now 15,488, a drop of 10 percent on the previous week.
Xbox is now outselling GBA as well as GameCube, GBA's weekly tally of 3,713 (a fall of 13 percent) possibly a result of anticipation for Nintendo's forthcoming front-lit GBA SP console.
Xbox meanwhile notched up 5,235 units (down 12%) continuing to pull clear of its nearest next-gen rival, GameCube, which shifted a lowly 1,657 units, down eight percent on the previous week.
