It's kinda dumb but what else is out now? Let's see, "A Guy Thing" and "National Security", two AAA movies! The movies getting really good reviews are all limited releases in mostly NYC and LA, and they aren't mainstream.
And it's a kid movie. Kid movies don't have to be terribly good to make money.

Well, they DID buy a spot in Times Square for the New Years party. So... that could be good advertising. =o

Well, it was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer so it can't be THAT bad.

My mom and brother and one of his friends saw it...they liked it. And im like "its a damn talking kangaroo, how could you like that ****'' And they said that the Kangaroo only talks in the main guy's dreams, not in real life...so really the movie isnt about a talking kangaroo like all of you are probably thinking. Just thought Id point this out.

I repeat, it's because no other good movies have recently been released.
And top at the box office was only $17 million for Kangaroo Jack; that's almost nothing compared to any other movie. That's normally what the bad movies make when they are released amongst really good movies.

i guess your right...the only good movie that i think is worth seeing in theatres now is National Security...man i wanna see that...

I read a review that National Security was pitiful. Worse than Kangaroo Jack.

According to the Tomato Meter (http://www.rottentomatoes.com), Kangaroo Jack got a 9% rating and National Security got a 14% rating. That makes them both rotten tomatoes, but I guess National Security is slightly better, especially if that's the type of movie you're interested in.
If you're wondering, RottenTomatoes.com archives reviews from major media sources and from other lesser known media sources and then averages the score to get the Tomato Reading. I like the site because you get an average of reviews and not just one person's review, so you know what the majority opinion is.
