I was just wondering. I have and I am more eagerly anticipating OoT Masterquest than WW itself. OoT=best 3D game ever...new version:roll:

I havent yet, but you can bet I will as soon as I can when they start giving out those Bonus Discs. OOT is just so great...

Well, I spoke with the Gamestop that I reserved the game at since like last summer, and they said that it is better to pre-order before so you can receive the free disc.

I reserved it at my local EB.. pretty much they said that they're not sure if there will be enough bonus discs to go around... then i told them that on nintendos website it sais that everyone that pre-orders gets a free disk.. n they didnt say anything so i walked away..

Seth

I preordered as soon as ebgames.com put up the bonus disc option. I better get the bonus discs, cuz, they've charged me the extra shipping costs for them. There has to be enough for everyone that preorders..otherwise there'll be a lot of pissed of fanboys.

It's Reserved adn I'm paying my mother for it, who I had order it to mkae my life easier. I'm wortking on "Zelda: A Link ot the past" for the GBA and I intend to fini**** before I start Windwaker and TOoT for the GCN, I only pre-orderted for the goodies, but It's still a good reason, Nintendo better have their NEXT Zelda ready to keep sales up, remeber if M$ outdoes Nintendo we'll all be stuck on Xboxes and PS2's, this isn;'t nessecarily bad, but it'll be worse than losing Atarti and Sega was, we need to keep the big "N" Alive. Alghouthgn if they win their lawsuit against Sony for the Playstaion name, or get a Ca$h settlement, we'll have something good either way.

I'm going to have to take extra good care of this thing when I get it. It's a rarity after all. And I'm not lending it out to anybody. And I mean I AM NOT lending it out to anybody.

I hope the Gamecube controller will be comfortable to use with those games too.

If rarity equals "everyone who preorders the new Zelda game will get a re-release and remix of OoT in a cardboard clip cover" then yep, its a rarity.

Don't get your hopes up though.

hmm... do you have to reserve it to get the bonus disk? Is it gonna be limited quantity or somthing?

I'm sure Nintendo will have to release it seperatly because there may be more demand for that bonus disk than the acctual game. I know I want the bonus disk more *shrugs*

Maybe I'll reserve it, then cancel after getting the free bonus disk.

yeah, you know the release dates don't make much sense now that i look at a calendar, the 15 and 16h are a weekend and the 17th is a holiday (presidents day)... i think i'll stop in eb on the way home tonight, either way i have a 3 day weekend with OOT coming up! :D

GameKinG
02-06-2003, 12:29 AM
Nintendo wont release it seperately. Despite whether you want the game or not, the only way you will get the disk without TWW is not going to be retail.

Amazon made one of the worst deals ever. They give you TWW, and the bonus disc for $50. But they also offer just the bonus disc for $70. One less game for 20 more dollars? Even if you dont want TWW, its a worse deal...oh well...

If there are extra after pre-ordering stops, on the day of TWW's release, they will likely include with non-preorders to they run out.

Jonbo298
02-06-2003, 12:47 AM
I think I understood what you mean GKG. I said $15 because thats what EB requires as a deposit. And with my town only having EB, thats about my only option.

Blix
02-06-2003, 04:00 PM
I completely paid my copy now. The clerks at EB didnīt know exactly how much you had to pay to assure your copy of the bonus disc. The add said $15, but some of the clercks were saying $20.

Ridley
02-06-2003, 04:19 PM
Yeah I've had my copy reserved for a couple weeks now. Went to EB, asked them if they were reserving and if it included the bonus disc and they said yes. I had to put $20 down in order to get the bonus disc though. Probably with my luck, they'll give me a bonus disc, but not the one with Ocarina of Time and Master Quest on it. If that happens, there's going to be some EB employees with a foot up their @$$.

As far as it seems, if you cancel your pre-order you have to bring back the bonus disc unopened and return it before you cancel your pre-order, I don't know if that holds true everywhere but that's seems to be the deal.

Gamer

Thats the deal where im buying it. Basically you pay 20$(cnd) for the bonus disk, and pay the rest for the actual game.

If you think about it, that really wouldnt be fair to the people who DO plan on buying the game. (Why don't you want it anyway?) Like if it's only limited copies and some other person who does plan on buying it and can't get the bonus disc because of people like you, then it isn't fair...IMO. Do whatever you want, I just felt like adding in my opinion...

I don't see why you don't want Wind Waker though... maybe you don't have enough cash? And if you get it from EB, theres always the 10 day return policy (I'm not sure if its in the US but is at EB Canada).

I've played about 1 hour into OOT. The video clips of 1080, F-Zero, and stuff aren't that great. Just footage from the games. But ya, OOT is running on a higher resolution. I don't know what else to say about the disc....cept that I mysteriously got 2 discs instead of one.

Alrighty, just got back from picking up my preorder disc. But I do have one quick question for anyone. I never played the original Ocarina of Time, considering I never owned a Nintendo 64. So I was wondering would you suggest that I play the original OoT? Or just jump right into the Master Quest?

Thanks in advance.

You're supposed to play the original first. Master Quest is intended for the people have already played through OoT at least once and know the puzzles and stuff.

It doesn't matter if you play Master Quest first, its just slightly more challenging than OoT, possibly more so since you haven't played OoT first.

Plus, the differences in Master Quest won't mean anything unless you've played OoT already.

In conclusion, I siggest you play OoT first, but it won't be the end of the world if you skip to Master Quest.

I don't see how the dungeons are necesarily harder... they're just different (although I've only played the deku tree dungeon so far)... and considering they have the same story and everything else, if you havn't played the original yet I don't think it would really matter which one you play... The differences in MQ don't mean anything unless you've played OoT already? But then if you play MQ first, then play OoT, there would be just as many differences as there were if you played OoT first and then MQ.... sooo... *shrugs*...

Dodongo's Cavern seemed like I was doing it backwards. Thats been the biggest challenge so far. Anyone with MQ and is up to the Fire Temple (Adult), I have a question. How do you get the door with the bars open at the very beginning?! I can't remember and I think doing it is new. But after this, comes the Water Temple:errr: That will take a few days since I don't have the strategy guide for OoT and I can't remember exactly how it goes.

I reserved it yesterday and got the bonus disc. This is my first time playing OoT and so far it's been quite boring, I've only talked to the Deku Tree and gotten the sword and shield so I still need to give it some more time. Is Master Quest just a hard version of OoT?

1. You haven't even started the game yet. The first part is just a little introduction to get you used to the controls and stuff.

2. Master Quest has more complicated puzzles and monsters in places they didn't used to be so... Yeah, its a little bit harder. Not extremely though.

I finally got my Zelda pre-order yesterday :):) And so far i have only played the deku tree. I already got stuck, lol, on the part where the platform is moving across the water, and you have to go under the rotating spiky bar. I didnt realise that you didnt have to lower the water, and just duck, so i was stuck for a while. But now i beat it, and just got Zelda's letter. Good game, im surprised they changed alot. :D

Well, I was sick all weekend with a deadly fever. Funny I should get sick on my time off. >_>

Anyways, yesterday I had awaited the blissfull call that this disc was in. But it wasn't coming. I phoned them just now, and they're (EB) giving me this crap that they won't get it until they get WW. God, idiots. I may have to revert to Microplay. :(

Keep calling them and telling them that you have sources saying that you get the Bonus Discs NOW! And have any friends also call them every day until they figure out that people aren't stupid. But I'm surprised that some EB's don't have it yet. Mine has had them since Thurs. But just keep pestering them until they give in:D
