This is basically my first review ever for a game. So if its a little rough, I will get better at it. (Scores are out of 10 in .5 increments)

Graphics: The graphics in Animal Crossing aren't exactly "up to standards". But considering this came from a Nintendo 64, its actually pretty good.
Sound: The sound in Animal Crossing is sub-par. Its all midi sounds that are not too impressive. But most of them are actually pretty catchy after listening to them for awhile. Especially some of the music you can listen to in your house.
Controls: The controls of Animal Crossing are pretty simple. You mainly just use the main joystick to move your character and A to grab things, shake trees, etc....But I don't really like how there is a slight delay from Acre to Acre. It's kind of annoying, but in the process it's kind of needed (So that you know what Acre you are actually in). But overall, the controls are pretty simple and easy to use.
Gameplay: Animal Crossing has great gameplay. There is so much you can do in the game. One of them is collecting NES games. There are many ways to get them. Trading, Animal-Crossing.com, or from the villagers in your town. There are so many classic games that you can get like my favorite-Excitebike. Thankfully Nintendo added the option to use the control stick also. I also like how they made it so that you can download (most) NES games to your GBA and play them. It's a pretty cool feature, but I personally don't use it much except to see how the game looks on the GBA.
The Trading feature in Animal Crossing is almost a godsend to most people. I personally have used it alot to try and complete my construction set (Which I finally completed!) Nintendo did kind of make the passwords long, but with all the town/person name possibilites its fully understandable.
The GBA plays a good role in Animal Crossing. You need the Gamecube/Gameboy Advace Link Cable and a Game Boy Advance to take advantage of these features. You can play NES games on it (if allowed), design clothing on it, go to your Island, download your Island when you leave, and use the E-Reader(which I will explain its function soon). I personally don't really play NES games or design clothing on the GBA. Mainly being because of the resolution difference. You can see that difference on some of the NES games like Pinball. But its still a great feature.
The E-Reader plays a pretty minor role in AC. There are different cards used for AC. Things like Town Tunes, Items, NES Games, and Clothing. The feature has yet to show what it really can do, but its still something that is good.
The real-time clock is a nice feature. If it is 2 PM in real time, its 2PM in AC. I like how its used. There are certain specific events that happen only at certain times. Like Crazy Redd coming between 6 PM and 6 PM of the next day, or Nook's shop only being open between 9 AM and 10 PM (with the exception of Nookway).
Animal Crossing is labeled as a "Communication Game". It fully lives up to that name. You can talk to the animals living in your town and ask for either work, or see how they are doing. Most of the errands you run do get boring after awhile since they get pretty tedious, but you get an item for completing what they ask. It can be Furniture, Carpet, Wallpaper, or writing paper.
Another great thing about Animal Crossing is customizing the inside of your house to fit your needs. You can change the wallpaper, carpet, and decide what items you want in your house. This adds alot of depth to the game. There are many themes, sets , and individual items you can get. For example, the Blue Furniture Set or the Construction theme.
The Island is a nice place to go to if you want to get away from your main town. There is 1 animal who lives there, but lives in poverty and asks for you to get items for him/her. You also have a second "house". But its basically just another place to store extra items you don't want to sell, like items you can't buy again in your catalog.
I could go on and on about all the great things Animal Crossing has to offer, but I think you should just go check this game out.
Replay Value: Animal Crossing has a nearly infinite replay value. Since time in the game runs in real time, you almost have to play at least once every day. There are so many things you could be doing at any one time that you will always find something to do when ever you play Animal Crossing.
Overall: Animal Crossing is a game almost anyone can enjoy - Male and Female! I simply can not go a day without playing Animal Crossing! There is so many things to do. From collecting fossils, bugs, or fish. To trying to get all the NES games. Its hard not to play Animal Crossing. So I say, go buy Animal Crossing! You will not be disappointed (unless you only like fast paced games)!
