- The merger between Square and Enix is in danger of being called off and terminated, reported by Japanese news Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The reason is that the largest shareholder of Square -- Masafumi Miyamoto, is dissatisfied with the amalgamation ratio announced in the shareholder's meeting, which is 0.81 for Square, and 1.0 for Enix. Right now Square and Enix are trying to resolve the issues.

Gah! The RPG gamers will be pissed if it is broken off. I do hope they resolve these issues..

Yeah, I read about that earlier. I think personally they should stay seperate as competition leads to good games, but when the two largest RPG makers join force it would be a match made in heaven or hell.

Nothing gained, nothing lost.. well, one thing gained was attention. But if Miyamoto's willing to keep it together it'll probably be a reality.

...Valkyrie Profile + Chrono Trigger... nay, Valkyrie Profile + FFVIII!!

I mean, it sounds awesome, really. However, I think their styles are FAR too different to be compatable. Heh, Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior(s?) would never be the same...
