"Today Sqaure and Nintendo of America (NOA) released shocking news to the video gaming world. After Years of long wait Sqaure and Nintendo are releasing two games that video gamers have been waiting (and wishing) for ever since the breakup of the companies and the acclaimed "Final Fantasy" series that ended for Nintendo on the Super Nintendo (SNES). Since then the Final Fantasy series has grown stong on Sony's Playstation and Playstation 2 (PSX and PS2 respectivley). Sqaures final game for Nintendo was the Critically Praised "Super Mario RPG" which had a successful sequal on the Nintendo 64 (N64) without the help of Sqaure. The two previously mentioned "All New" games from Square and Nintendo will be sequals to these franchises. First will be the already announced "Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Followed by "Super Mario RPG 3" which was said by a represenative of Sqaure "We are proud to come back to one of the series we loved to work on the most, expect a return to the style of Super Mario RPG as we are steering clear from the style Nintendo set with their "Paper Mario". When we asked Nintendo for a quote they simply said "We are glad that Nintendo and Square on on good terms again, I think that we're speaking for all Nintendo fans" Mike Donaldson CNN News"

I'm sure Sony will be very pleased about this...

I think I should wait until a more reliable website confirms this news though. Kind of an odd day of week to release shocking news.

Yeah, what Bond said. This is the first time I've ever heard of gametalk.com
I won't believe it until IGN has it, or GameSpot.

Today? Saturday? When is the last time anyone released anything on a Saturday?

Today is sunday, though I cant say that the 'announcement' was today. Dont get your hopes too high.

This makes no sense. If you wanted to make a major announcement, you would want to make it on a business trading day, which Sunday is not. Unless... is it Monday in Japan right now? Because Nintendo and Square both have stock in the Japanese market (ugh). Even if it is, I'm still not buying it until it is confirmed from other sources... I just don't think Sony would allow Square to do this.

Firstly, let me start by saying I don't really believe this article. I think they failed to get the name of the company right for starters. It is Enix-Square (or Square-Enix?).

Secondly (if there is any sort of truth to this), why would this have anything to do with Sony? Sony only own around 8% of the newly formed Enix-Square, far less than the 20 odd% they owned of Square, and even then, they didn't stop Square from announcing FF:CC on the GC, add that to the fact that this isn't even a Square franchise, hence Sony have no say...

Anyway, I just believe this is all BS until made a big deal out of by a bigger, and more reputable site.

Yeah by now it's Monday in Japan, but only 8:10 AM as of now, I doubt they would announce anything in the early morning.

That'd be cool if it's true, but like everyone else said I'll wait for a more credible site to confirm it before I believe it... meh

Monday in Japan, but the article is dated Saturday. It would be Sunday there, even worse.

I really really hope they are making SMRPG3, but I won't believe it until I hear from IGN, gamespot or PGC.

Hey...this could be Kinda Megaton-ish...at least to us Nintendo fans...that is if it ends up being true.

Crap, I don't believe anything unless it graces IGN's cube page. These no-name sites, like console talk and this one, just suck ass. They really work me up for nothing.

You know, the more I look at that website, I don't even think it was official news. It looks to me more like that it was posted by a fan. Look at the posted by name: "Megaton???" It's pretty much trash now...

I never got around to playing Paper Mario, I wanted to buy it but I just never got around to it. Didn't know it was a sequel to SMRPG, did you guys (who played it) like it?

I wish this would be true. Super Mario RPG (not that crap Paper Mario) was great...

It was pretty fun, bot not nearly as fun as SMRPG. Probably one of the better N64 games though.

C'mon, it's easy to tell the quotes are made up. Square wouldn't make fun of Paper Mario like that. I can't believe anyone was fooled by this.

I hope the SMRPG3 is true... the first one was the best. Paper Mario sucked pretty badly...

BUT! Unless this magazine my friend got a subscribtion for is lieing (which it probably is NOT), the FF:CC is coming out. I dunno about the SMRPG3 tho.

I dont see why anyone has to wait for a "more reliable" source for this news to be confirmed. Just cause the site isnt famous doesnt mean the articles is bogus.

Anyway, from what i've read i see that they're not using the "paper Mario" style? I loved the paper Mario look! argh...I hope they change their minds.

I'm sorry, I've gotten my hopes up too many times only to be shot down later on by trusting these noname sites. Advice to anyone smart: ignore it until it comes by IGN or Gamespot.

That "article" was originally posted back on January 4...I think if there was any sort of truth to it, we would have heard something from a more reputable source by now...

And that's ignoring the many spelling and grammar mistakes present in the "article" too...

i always found something funny, the fact that the SNES SMRPG was 3d and then the sequel on N64 was 2d...isn't that a tad ironic??

Agh, I hate it when people bring back old topics like this. When I first saw it I thought it was new and went crazy for a second, until I noticed it was from January...
