i always used my strat guide to get through the sewers, it has a map and everything. if i still had my digital cam i'd take a picture of it for you, but my mom lent it out so sorry. are you sure you tried gamefaqs.com?
positive. i checked every one and they all gave tips it was lame. and then like 80% of the guides are for the japanese game sooo

and who are the best characters to use at the end?? :) Your sewers question... Oh... I didn't use a map or guide for that... I just ran around like crazy... lol :D Remember to save before you leave though because you'll be fighting that goth chick, Edea.
At the end, it's really your choice. I had
Squall- Lionheart.... enough said :p
Irvine- He had the Revive ability and his limit break with the pulse ammo.
Rinoa- she had 9999 HP and the extremely useful Recover ability. It's really your decision of which characters to bring. The real important thing is the abilities and Limit Breaks :) I heard Zell's limit break Armaggedon Fist is uber useful for Ultimecia... never used it tho.
Hope I helped... a bit at least
well i got thru the dam sewers relatively easy, especially since i had encounter half.
i just started the second disc and im the winhill place with laguna. i hate these parts of the story lol, it seems like they just add it in to get in the way.
two of my main gripes about this game are the long-ass-unskippable gf animations, and the lack of magic use.
i mean, theres a ton of magic and stuff, but all u really want to (should) use it for is junctioning. know what im sayin
maybe it'll get a little better further into the game
but so far im lovin this game just like before
ok im a bit confused...what do these following stats do:
vit
spr
hp (duh)
magic (duh)
and any others that ff8 uses. kinda confusing

it should all say in the handbook

Str: Strength, amount of damge you do
Mag: Magic, how powerfull your magic spells are
Vit: Vitality, defence against physical attacks
Spr: Spirit, defence against magic attacks
luck, not quite sure
hit%, self-explanitory
Speed, determines how long you have to wait in battle -- the higher the less you gotta wait
anything i'm forgeting?

Hell, I didn't do any sidequests except for ultimate weapons (like squall :)) and getting Doomtrain..but I didn't use doomtrain a lot.. because when i fought Ultimecia, I didn't have the GF seal disabled.. :sneaky:
