Go buy Half-life by itself for $10-$20 and then download Counterstrike for free. It's a free mod, but you have to have the Half-life game. It's so cheap now that it shouldn't be any problem.

ok... you need half life to play cs.. so as long as you get like a friend who has half-life to lend you his game and let you install it... then all you need is a cd key... and cs is a free download.. its perfectly legal..

I was dunadan a looooong time ago but then i changed it and kind of left gt. I kind of quit playin video games and only come to the pc forum which isn't very exciting...

shiz...you can download CS off of www.counter-strike.net but it won't work becuase you need half life, half life has all the main info needed for CS, like gameplay and **** like that, all CS is basically is modified weapons and character models. and new maps. so you either go out and buy half-life or buy CS...either way you'll ned the full retail version of one of them...and a CD-Key if you wanna play online anytime without disturbances...and CD-Key generators don't work online, they are used only to play single player.
