Mystic Quest

Have you played Mystic Quest?? It's the only Final Fantasy game that came to Europe. And I can guess why. Japanese thought RPGs were too hard for us. And Mystic Quest is sooo boring and easy. It's like an RPG for beginners.

I've played half way through it, but it's just so boring!

There is one main character, you, that gets help from different persons. This time this dude helps you, the other time some girls helps you... there are always 2 in your party. :rolleyes:
The animation is terrible.

But actually it was a nice game to play. It had some atmosphere... my bro beated it and he liked it back then. He just wouldn't want to play it again. :)

Why did you have to mention this game? It doesn't even deserve to be called an RPG. Worst SNES game (and RPG) that I've ever played.

Hey.. that was one of the first RPGs my friend and I played and conquered.. we were really young.. and proud of ourselves.. :unsure:

Mystic Quest was and is a good game, it was made before all the FF games, Secret Of Mana and Chrono Trigger etc etc, this is why it looks dated compared to the aforementioned games. It has a pretty good storyline and is a great game for its time. The battle system was unique, it has been copied in many other RPG's since then.

Some of you guys are judging it harshly because of how much games have advanced since then. However the few that can still appriciate old skool games can see it's merits.

I will admit it wasnt a great game but it deserves more respect. I tell you I can see good in games others think are shat, I even liked Quest 64 (Holy Magic Century)

Wha!? I thought you guys got the same FFs we did.

I remember that game. Not bad by any means but not good either. Paid $15 at Best Buy back in the day. I got pretty far, the end of the game I think, but my save file freaked out and I gave up on it. Think my friend beat it though... Bleh. That's sad if that's the only one that came out there.
