Hell, I've posted it everywhere else but here, so I figured I'd give it a go for some GT opinions...Here are the screens:

Now, the last three are from Shoshinkai 2k1, and are EXTREMELY low res, but still look very detailed. And BTW, IGN has the Shoshinkai quicktime movie now, and those last three pics do the game no justice- they look insanely good in-game.

I'll post more pics later when I get them up; what do you think? I honestly think Retro has something good here that may actually redefine the series, perhaps even revolutionize it.

We'll see...enjoy.

Mind you, some are very blurry due to an in-game filter effect (much like Majora's Mask and Zone of the Enders), so if a pic isn't that clear, that's why- but it looks excellent when executed onscreen. The resolution is horrible as well (only 320 x 240), so the pics had to be extra small in this post, otherwise there'd be horrendous distortion and pixelation. Other than that, enjoy, and drool over what could be a damn-good game from Retro- provided that they've figured out some kinda way to do the platform-hopping/blasting enemies combo in 3D....

So, what'd ya think??

I think they look extremely impressive... Taking into account the guys working on this title are pretty well known for excellent games (though the new formed developer remains new), this game SHOULD be in safe hands. We all know they are capable of executing great FPS titles, but could they go just that little bit further and make it a metroid only game? With the help of Nintendo they can. We will just have to ait and see, but on the visual front, they seem to have no problem at all...

None of them are new.. unless you mean new screenshots because we all seen them in the trailers from Spaceworld. Well me for one...

Some of the ones just look nasty, but I know, it's because they are just screenshots... I hope the enviornments are really huge, allowing you to explore a lot of new grounds, rather then just going through the same path over and other :D

And did anyone else read that Retro Studios had finished the project and are just polishing it up? I read that article around Spaceworld 2001 time...

Wrong! The article you talk about is the interview with Shigy where he said that he had in his hands a playable level finished, but which might not be polished enough for Spaceworld 2001.

THe game is still in deep development and will be ready only after E3.

I'm guessing the game will be around 80% done come Spaceworld.

I'm not expecting this game until Halloween or Christmas.

I don't think the game will be completed until 2003 personally; it's had too many in-production troubles, and it means too much to Nintendo to be botched. This game will take ages - I think Retro may be the new Rare, at least as far as delays and dev times are concerned...

But again, just my opinion!
