Well, wouldn’t today be good day to be German. Apparently, the holiday Xbox package which includes JSRF and SegaGT has generated a substantial increase in sales in Germany - enough to convince Microsoft that by throwing in Halo on top of the deal, they’ll convince everyone who still hasn’t bought an Xbox to do so. So everyone who buys the Xbox holiday package between December 11 and December 31 will also receive a free copy of Halo too.

Hans Stettmeier (Director of HED/Xbox and member of the executive staff of Microsoft GmbH) says: "We saw a marked increase in market share since the introduction of the two-game Sega bundle last week. To convince the last undecided gamers in the weeks that count, we are now adding Halo: Fight of the Future (German title), the best and best selling Xbox game, on top of it for free."

Microsoft is really going out of their way to make sure that every person on this planet has an Xbox in their home. Giving away two excellent titles with each system, as well as a Controller-S, was a surprise move in itself, but to give away their still best-selling game on top of that is incredible. Microsoft has entered the console market and will not be going away without a fight, that’s for sure. Whether this deal will make its way to our shores is unknown, but don’t count on it. Maybe if we wait long enough Microsoft will throw in Steel Battalion as well...

Well... that's a great deal for you Germans.

So, Angrist, what to buy an Xbox now? :)

Xbox is actually doing quite well in Europe.

And in the long run this will get Microsoft more Xbox gamers which equals more money.

Didn't they already do that? Or was that only with Australia?

That was only in Australia... I think they started that offer about a month ago.

By the way, it worked quite well in Australia, where the Xbox was already doing well. So I suspect it will also work well in Europe.

Wow, they're really starting to pull strings over there. I wish I lived there....

P.S. I'm half german, and my ancestors fought in the war on the german side. I'm not offended if you call me Nazi, happydude. ;)

It is kind of funny. Microsoft is making most of their money from North America as far as the Xbox goes. Yet they give all the special edition stuff to Japan, Europe, and Australia. I understand the reason behind it, but it would be nice if we were treated to something. :)

By the way, Happydude, I wouldn't post anymore Nazi comments.

And I'm 100% German (capital G, don't offend anyone). And I also German royalty :king: My ancestors left the country before and now they're no longer run by the royal family.

And Japan always gets special stuff. But they also a probably more willing to pay for the extra stuff. The pack-ins seem strange though. Maybe they don't feel they need it in NA.

I'm not German. I'm Dutch.

I would get the bundle if I wasn't a Nintendo fan.
€300 is still kinda expensive... I can buy 5 GC games of that.
X-Box with 1 game I like vs 5 GameCube games... :D

Wish Nintendo would something like this though :( They always had the advantage of price... untill now! Even the Mario bundle is more expensive than a normal Cube!

Yeh Xbox has been doing pretty well here just by going to EB and looking at people enquiries and stuff.

The Massive XBox pack or woteva it's called is a very good deal!

No. It is an Xbox with three games.

Ok, the Massive Pack (link (http://www.xbox.com/system/xboxholidayoffer.htm)) includes two free games. Jet Set Radio Future and Sega GT 2002. If you purchase the Massive Pack (2 free games) you also get Halo free. So you get 3 games free.
So for the bundle you get:
1 Xbox
1 S Controller
1 copy of Jet Set Radio Future
1 copy of Sega GT 2002
1 copy of Halo

All for $200.

That is far better than Nintendo's current SMS & GC deal.

You said you would rather have 5 GCN games instead of an Xbox and 2 games.... But it comes with 3 games, not 2.

I said I'd rather have 5 GCN games than an X-Box with 1 game I like.

But that's of course very personal...

If it would have Halo, Fable and Halo 2 or something.... I'd think about it.

But I'd still rather play a friend's Box. :D

No place for another console, especially one as big as X-Box. :D ;)

Well, Fable and Halo 2 are kind of not out yet.

But most likely Microsoft will somehow bundle Halo 2 with Xbox Live, and maybe with the Xbox.
