IGN about the next issue of Famitsu:

"Next week's magazine will also include "the scoop on a surprising new game announcement." Famitsu does not specify which console the still-secret title is scheduled for."

Could it be... :D

Yay! My dear Megaton! Where have you been this past week? Killed by that Cassamasina guy?

Well well... my first thoughts of "Square Enix" were Megaton anyways. I really hope this is it. :D

(Well, hey, it's better than NOTHING!)

I wonder who will buy the exclusive rights if there is a game made for Yu-gi-oh :D

-EDIT-

Also, methinks pokemon is still popular enough to sell a whole damn lot if released on a console. The reason the show and stuff is dying is the fact that they are making it too confusing... there are WAY too many pokemon now. they probably should have added 50 memorable pokemon at a time instead of 100 unknown wierd looking ones.

CAPCOM BEING BOUGHT BY...

Nintendo, apparently, and the announcement is to be made next week: head in for the latest

15:14 According to various sources this morning, the much-rumoured Nintendo megaton announcement involves a buyout of Capcom.
The British gossip camp is split on the validity of the news, with senior insiders instantly snubbing the story as unfeasible. The rumour appears to have sprung out of the recent confirmation of a set of five GameCube exclusive titles from the company, including Resident Evil 4 and Killer 7, coupled with disappointing financials.

Far more solid is talk of a large Nintendo announcement early next week, either on Monday or Tuesday.

Others are putting the date for the announcement at just before Christmas, possibly December 23.

There's more. Sega is also rumoured to be part of the announcement. Yep, that's right: there are elements of the UK industry hearing that Nintendo is to buy Sega and Capcom. Together. Just like apple pie and custard.

Rearrange the following words: this, take, a, with, pinch, huge, of, salt. Microsoft was supposed to be buying Capcom a few weeks ago, and Nintendo Europe claims to know nothing about the megaton announcement whatsoever.

If anything else reaches our flapping ears, we'll be sure to let you know.

This little story never seem to go away!
Who is going to buy Capcom (IF any one)?

bah... these rumors get on my nerves more than the old Rare ones for one reason:

IT MAKES NO SENSE

Ok, maybe they could buy out Sega... but why buy them right after they say the 2k4 games will not be coming to GCN???

I dunno about Capcom, that's more likely than Sega imo.

I'm with Bluefire... annoying annoying annoying >_<

And there's so much hype that, in my mind, nothing could be megaton... :p

Capcom buying out Rare? Big deal, they already have 5 exclusive games, along with the Resident Evil series (well, 'cept RE Online)... And such...

Why not though? It might be some sort of effort on Nintendo's part to get sports fans onto Gamecube.

And the rumor of Capcom/Sega/Nintendo continues, after a week of peace. I'm still too confused to believe any of it. I'll believe it when I see it.

I think buying both Sega and Capcom would put Namco cold in the wind. Triforce anyone?

Of course, they'll need to buy Namco too.

BULL****. Everyone just keeps repeating themselves. It truly IS getting annoying.

My only thought on those three is.... Nintendo's philosophy is to both develop and publish games, with the EAD (and SHIGGY) monitoring every detail. It happened with Metroid Prime, it happened with Star Fox Adventures, and it's happened with every game out. Buying ANY company would be both hard on Shiggy and hard on Nintendo's profits already.

That's also a load of ****. What BRILLIANT DEDUCTION WE HAVE~~! Only 5 games exclusive? If COURSE it's a buyout! Nintendo's monopolizing the market! SAVE YOUR KIDDIES!

I believe that Konami has the rights to Yu-gi-oh. There have allready been several games released for GameBoy and PSOne I believe.

And yes... There are way too many pokemon. They should just go back to the 151.

That is correct on the Yu-gi-oh. My grandma just bought the gameboy color game for my cousin who is like 10 I think...Its a card game...probably like the pokemon card game for gameboy color...I looked at the box, Indeed Kanomi makes it. So yea...

And this megaton poop is getting old...

That sounds nice, but will have to see it to believe it. Even ifthey purchased Sega, methinks sport gamers would be the last thing on thier minds.

I think it's too late to go back... but I think they should stop adding for a while. They should start focusing on the story line and battle system for the newer games, and stop focusing on making new Pokes.

Even 251 was okay. Over 300 is too much though. Like Justin said, they need to expand in other areas.

Instead of making new ones, why don't they create a fusion option for the first 251 :)

thats terrible thats gonna make like a bajillion new pokemon.. if they can all fuse and stuff... that doesnt solve anything..

Stop thinking rationally, then Megaton makes no sense. And Nintendo, Sega, and Namco still makes sense. Sega ownz in the arcade biz. Don't you think they could still use arcade hardware for VF5, Virtua Cop 3, etc.? It doesn't seem too off.

BULL****. Everyone just keeps repeating themselves. It truly IS getting annoying.

True, but repeating could mean both ways. they might have heard rumors reported the wrong way and read them as fact, or the hints that slipped about the announcement before christmas involving Capcom and Sega may be true.

Shiggy does a lot because he is a brilliant game designer, but he doesn't monitor every detail of every game. But on the other side, Sega has its own geniuses like Yu Suzuki, and Yuji Naka. Sega has made hit games on their own, give them money for development and some aid in getting the most out of the cube hardware, and they can run with it. Not to mention, they could single-handedly make Cube become big online.

The reference to Capcom is just a piece of the puzzle. Nintendo and Capcom seem to have been growing closer and closer lately. It all began with Capcom developing the GBC Zeldas, and then RE goes exclusive, then they develop GBA Zelda, and now 5 exclusive titles? Again, pieces of the puzzle. Would it make sense? Not complete sense. What about RE Online, Tekki, DMC2, and others? If progress was stopped months ago and a porting process begun, it would make sense, but we haven't heard. It all references to say that there is the possibility.

It may not make much sense, but if it did, would it be a surprise? I mean, look at Rare. There wasn't a huge announcement, they didn't steal E3. Basically a press release to news everyone knew about and had accepted. This is so unreal, if it happened, we would all be shocked, and would people buy Gamecubes for Sega and Capcom games? I think so.

But my position still stands. I'm confused

Yes, I think we're all very confused.

Everything should be straightened out soon, I hope!

And I didn't get all the PKMN in G/S, cause it seemed too much for me! I really hope they'll add something to make collecting easier or something... or perhaps not concentrate on collecting but rather on training and getting the best, strongest PKMN. :)

Yes but Star Fox Adventures was almost finished (and was a game being made with one of Nintendo's licenses... or whatever), and we hadn't heard anything of Kameo for quite awhile (at least I hadn't  )...

Yep...
