View Full Version : Will this work? Two games, maybe more?

I just came across an idea today... My sister bought a used PIKMIN game for my brother a couple of days ago, and since we already beat the game, I figure I just return it and say it was a Christmas gift that they already had and exchange it for another game . Good idea? Or can you exchange those used games that way any time of the year? Because I was pretty sure you are only able to exchange used games if they are defective? Then maybe after Christmas I could bring it back and say the same thing and get another game. That way I get to play maybe three games without having to buy them all seperately.
Think it will work?

If its uses they will probably only give the same title used, or its worth in money...

Doubt it. It's not exactly easy for stores to sell used titles, so once they sell it, I doubt they want it back. They'll buy it back for like $5.

at my local EB, you have 10 days after you buy a game to bring it back for full refund. all you have to tell them is "i didnt like" and they would just put it back on the shelves as a new copy and you get all your money back. pretty sweet. And with used games, you automatically get a life time warranty on them, it could screw up 3 years later and you could bring it back for a new copy.

Which EB is this? Is it just yours, or all EB stores?

That's an awesome policy. I'll be doing my business there from now on. Of course attempting not to lose any receipts is a task in itself.

Here it is Joeiss: http://www.ebgames.com
I'm pretty sure they ship games to Canada, and the policy is storewide I believe.

Well guess what?? I just called EB today:
Me: What's your policy on used games?
EB: What exactly do you need to know?
Me: I bought a used game as gift for christmas, but I just found out today that they already have that game. I was wondering if it is possible to bring it in and exchange the game for something else.
EB: Do you have the receipt?
Me: Yes.
EB: Then you can bring it in and exchange.
Looks like I get to play another game other than Pikmin. Maybe I should get a game that has longer replay value and one that takes more than a day to beat.

I'm not a lier. I actually went in and traded it for Eternal Darkness. Now I have a gift receipt, and after christmas looks like I'm gonna be trading that back for something more recent. I just got my GC a couple of weeks ago. Got the Mario Sunshine package so I really don't mind playing these older games because I haven't played them yet. Just bought the RE remake also.
