At last some ones done a Review for PDO and it's good with a Famitsu score of 38!

Famitsu Xbox reviews Panzer Dragoon Orta
If there was any doubt in your mind that a Japanese developer could create a triple-A title for the Xbox, those worries should forever be put to rest. In the latest issue of Famitsu Xbox, Smilebit's Panzer Dragoon Orta received three 10's and an 8 for a total of 38 and the prestigious platinum award. Also worth mentioning is several unlockables present in the new Panzer Dragoon installment, including the original Panzer Dragoon, released previously only on the Saturn, as well as several CG movies from the three previous Panzer Dragoon titles.

With just a little over a month till the U.S. release of Orta, Xbox gamers should be saving cash and vacation time in anticipation for what could be the greatest episode in an already classic series. Panzer Dragoon Orta releases domestically January 14th.

lol ok Famitsu review games in a different way to most other magazines! There are 4 reviewers who can each give up to 10 points each giving a total of 40 points. So 38 out of 40 is a very very good score for a game to get (I think it’s the highest they have every give an Xbox game).

Wow, that is a great score. Its equivalent to EGM reviewers giving it a 10, 10, 9. Excellent score. I can't wait to see what this game looks like in my XBox.

I was browsing another forum and some guy posted the same article, but it stated that Panzer Dragoon Orta actually received 4 10's for a perfect score of 40 from Famitsu. So now I am wondering which review is true. Does anyone know for sure? Not that it matters that much...

One of the reviews could have been from Xbox Famitsu and one from just plane old Famitsu! Maybe!

well, I played the demo...

it's....nice?

don't get yourselves too hyped up...it's not a perfect 10-type of game

I was quite disappointed, I thought the game would be mind-blowing. The graphics are very nice, but the gameplay is pretty damn simple and generic. You move the 'crosshairs' around and shoot down enemies while you fly through a beautiful canyon or sky or what have you.

I really hope the entire game doesn't have the same gameplay as the level in the demo I played. It feels like it would get stale quite quickly.

Is too a perfect 10 game :p

How were you disapointed? It's part of the Panzer Dragoon series, and aside from Saga, this is how they play. The same game that was a huge hit on Saturn, and the same one that's getting perfect 10s now.

Anything else wouldn't be Panzer Dragoon.

Firstly, I haven't played PD before. And I didn't know what to expect other than a shooter with very high-quality gameplay. Instead I got a pretty shooter with simple, somewhat boring gameplay. I don't care if it was a hit or not then, or if it's a hit or not now. I didn't enjoy the demo...

oh wait....this is a Sega game....no point in me voicing my opinion. I bet if Sony developed an identical game you wouldn't touch it.

for some reason I bet you're gonna say "but sony would never develop a game of this quality!!!11" :p

Well that was only the first level and supposedly it was a very very old build (one that was made before the november-january delay) and smilebit has said that even that level has been improved.

One of the biggest problems with the demo was a total lack of challange (I can't imagine anyone but the most inept gameres dieing on even their first try.) I'm sure it will get more intense as time goes on.

I hope you at least rent this one before giving up on it.

Yeah, I have heard this game is not for everyone. And I think only the xbox famitsu reviewers have rated this game, yet.

I think it got a 35/40...

"The magazine also reviewed Panzer Dragoon Orta for Microsoft's Xbox. PDO earned a 35/40, or 8, 9, 9, and 9, and a platinum award."

I'm picking it up regardless (next week actually!) mostly because I played the previous ones endlessly on Saturn.

Dorimega, the DC mag turned Famitsu rival, gave it a 7.3/10. Which may actually be a fairer assessment. Maybe.

The Panzer Dragoon series is simply awesome...:)

Damn, a 38/40 is nearly perfect (the best score Famitsu has given a Xbox game).
