Well, pretty much everyone around the Xbox Live community thought that Unreal Championship would defiantly be the Xbox Live game to own. Some reviews for UC have been coming in, and yes they have been good, but another game has seemed to caught the eye of several websites. MechAssault is getting great reviews around the web. Here are some notable ones:
IGN's Review of MechAssault:
Presentation
A ton of mechs, a good single-player mode and a nice interface. It would have been nice to see more options for Live and even some customization, but I guess you can never have it all. 7.0
Graphics
Though there are some moments of slowdown, this is one pretty game. Great mech animations, amazing particle effects, and I never tire of blowing up buildings. 9.0
Sound
Those with 5.1 will go deaf cranking up the volume on this beast. Fantastic sound effects and a solid score, but no customizable soundtracks. And please, stop with the voice masking! 9.0
Gameplay
Straight-up action. At times it almost seems too simple, but there is certainly strategy here. It's amazing how fresh the game feels no matter how often you play it. 8.0
Lasting Appeal
Plenty of mechs to enjoy, Xbox Live, and future downloadable content. More multiplayer modes would help, but there's no denying everyone will be playing this game online for the next year. 10.0
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 9.2

Gamespot's Review of MechAssault:
MechAssault isn't an overly complicated game, and this makes it a perfect choice for the Xbox Live launch. Once you get used to the game's pacing, it's easy to get good at controlling your mech, which is, of course, invaluable when you're playing online against other experienced players. The well-done campaign mode, the terrific presentation, and the variety of online modes all combine to make a truly superb final product. If you're going to buy one game with your Xbox Live starter kit, MechAssault is the one to get.
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 9/10
Soud: 9/10
Value: 9/10
Tilt: 9/10
Overall: 9.0 superb

As you can see the reviews are outstanding. Anyone here considering getting MechAssault?
