I have music on my computer that I want to put onto a CD. My computer doesn't have a CD-RW drive. I have e-mailed it to myself so that I can download the files onto my parents computer which is equipped with a CD-RW drive. When I sent the files as attachments, they were transformed from mp3 files into MIME files. My parents computer is a PC. My question:

Once downloaded, how do I re-convert these files to mp3? Is there a special apllication I need?

Your help is appreciated :D

um. if they're sent correctly, theres no reasons your mp3's should be converted into anything.

did you try just changing the file extention back to .mp3? :p

Nah, that won't work. If you look at the original mp3's and compare them with the MIME encoded ones, you'll see the MIME ones are bigger.

Something has gone wrong somewhere... when you send something via email, it goes out MIME encoded... and when it gets picked up, it gets MIME decoded back into it's original format.

All I can think of is that one of the mailers you used is totally fuxx0red - prolly the one at your parents end. Or it could be that one of the ISP's doesn't like you sending mp3's via email - try zipping them up, and then sending them.

If all else fails, just FTP them over. More difficult to set up, but much faster (cos of no file bloat you get with MIME) and ALWAYS works.
