Were talking about sega here... how could you expect Quality from them?

jk ;)

I saw these scores at another Xbox forum, that's pretty upsetting if you ask me. I was about to buy an Xbox just to buy that game, but now my plans have changed dramatically.

I will wait for Raw 2 to release now.

It's a port. What did you expect? It's being graded as an Xbox game, which it isn't. It was made for DC, they grade it with Xbox standards.

Duh! :D

*turns super saiyan or whatever*

IGN better have a better score. If people don't like Shenmue 2x, Shenmue 3 probably won't be released. And I will probably have to kill someone in that manner. Really. =\

If they were grading this game using XBox standards vs. Dreamcast thats just a shame. Shenmue was one of the most unique and engrossing games I've ever played, and by all reports Shenmue 2 was even better. If it got low scores only because it was a port, thats a pretty weak reason.

But then again, I haven't played it yet, but I know a lot of people who have the import and they say it is amazing.

Don't say that, you'll jinx it. I'll be real mad if the whole serires isn't finished, thry can't stop the story where it is now...

And 'bout the review, the scores have to be because it's a port or the reviewer's opinion. It's much better than the first IMO (which got a 9.7 (http://dreamcast.ign.com/articles/164/164499p1.html) from IGN). I played them both and their is no other reasons for Shenmue IIx to get a worse score...

They basically said it's less engaging than the original, which is true. Otherwise I would've finished it on DC.

Guys the Critics are freakin morons. They give games like Animal crossing nearly perfect and gave shenmue bad cause the graphics. Well look at animal crossings graphics they are really bad and it gets near perfect. EGM are a bunch of morons and i cant beleive people actually go by critics instead of trying the game out themselves.

Maybe Animal Crossing is just a better game that wasn't meant to be marketed off of graphics in the first place ;)

Look at every Shenume 1 review... they all talk about how realistic the graphics are and how great the environments are designed. Sega meant for it to be that way too, they were trying to create realism, not great gameplay.

Back then (according to Daily Radar) it was probably one of the best games of all time... but that should tell you how far graphics carry a game. :)

Animal Crossing (imo) is a better game than Shenume period... and graphics have absolutly noting to do with it.

they gave Shenmue 2 bad ratings partly because of the graphics because they said the graphics were nothing but dreamcast grapics. Where as Animal crossing gets nearly perfect when it has horrible graphics that look as they were in the N64. Besides Shenmue is the first game of its kinda and orginal where as Animal Crossing is just a rip off of Harvest Moon

Did you not understand my last post?

Shenume= Series that is meant to mirror reality... and that builds around jaw dropping graphics as well as gameplay.

Animal Crossing= 100% gameplay based... no matter how ugly or pretty it is, graphics won't effect the score.

Based off of gameplay alone, Shenume deserves bad scores. Give Shenume AC's graphics, and give AC Shenume's graphics, who get's the better score?

Shenume is a game that got near perfect Scores on DC 100% for it's visuals... now that it's visuals are not even close to stunning, how is it supposed to get a good score?

actually no. they didnt give it bad scores because of the graphics.

What they said. Was.... as game said. the game is supposed to mirror Reality.... the reviewers said that as anyone knows.... reality isnt all action. reality is pretty damn boring sometimes. infact thats why we play games. duh.

they say most the game gets boring and somewhat repetitive always going around talking to people.

Now i dunno what the first was like, so i cant say what made the first good or not. and i dont even remember what these guys gave the first one. maybe this one is good. i really dont know.

im just sayin from what i read. graphics wasnt what they claim was the prob.

I think in the first one you would spend hours on doing nothing just to wait for an appointment you made.

Yeah basically...

and walk around asking 10,000 people the same question with minimal leads.

I used to wait in the arcade all day in the second place.

Yes, in some times, they say "go to the diner at 8pm" or something. If you go to the diner Ryo says "This is the diner... I should wait until 8pm." And then it brings up the option to wait. The clock goes wild and the sun moves across the sky quickly, and you're there at the right time in almost three seconds. It's really convenient. If you don't wait, there's plenty of things to do, plenty of games to play, plenty of gambling spots, plenty of jobs, and plenty of time to waste. And it comes in the correct places, so yes, it's a great system. It's nothing to nag about.

But no, there's no such thing as a sleep mode. wtf? Who would want to sleep? In any situation, you're able to save it within 2 seconds of bringing up the menu, then turn the console off. Then start back up and you're where you left off.
