Anyone know how or where to download free PC games online? Because I heard my friend talking about how he got UT2003 for free by downloading online, I don't really want to do it actually, but one question....Is it legal?

sorry, i must say tho. thats a stupid question.

of course its not legal...
whats the diff between that and going into a store, putting the game in your jacket and walking out?

i mean its only $40.... PC games have gone down in price.

it takes a very sad. CHEAP ASS person to go steal a game by downloading it when he could just go buy it.

If you know of a friend that has UT 2003, than find a way to burn a copy. Works everytime;):D

1. Does UT stand for Unreal Tournament?
2. You would also need a serial number along with the burned game.

Yeah, UT stand for Unreal Tournament, and I was just wondering

1 yes, Unreal Tournament 2003

2. the serial is actually the easiest thing to get.

3. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. very lame way to get a game.

Really? They have ways of dealing with serial distributing. Like some software voids a serial number once its been used so it can't be distributed again. Maybe they don't go to that extent for a computer game...

You can walk into Wal-Mart, open a box, write down the number, and they won't even bother you most of the time.

Hmm... sometimes the number is on the booklet and the booklet is not in the box.

Battle.net doesn't let 2 users share the same serial number. :)

This is correct, but if you are the first one to use the number...

Also, the likely hood of you meeting the person online who actually bought the game at the same time is, well...small.

Not that I'm advocating this.

Interesting side story. Many members of the gaming club at our school play the same game off of the same code for the same disc. No one wanted to buy it. So now, the company is offering to sell us product keys for like $5. I guess they just want to have a chance to make some money. Even if they have to let us get away with distributing their game.

Nope. You cant really get in trouble for it as of now...but someday maybe.

If it remains in your kazaa download folder or whatever you use to file share, it could be discovered and you could be tracked. There's really too many people though so it's probably not worth worrying about. Unless you're pirating a $10,000 piece of state of the art software, I think you'll be ok. :D

right now they go after the people who put the software up for download. the suppliers if you will.

however its arrogent to say you cant get in trouble for it. it is stealing. and you of course can get in trouble for it. it is possible for them to find out what yoru downloading. harder depending on how its named. unlikely yes. but possible. your ISP can find out what you do online.

more likely is. i've actually heard of this. and know of one person its happened to. His ISP found out he was going to warez sites. and downloading illegal software. his ISP cut off his service. he had to get a new isp basically.

its rare. but it can happen.

best thing to do would be for all the LOSERS that do that stuff to get a damn job and buy the software. its not like it costs that much. if no one stole games, they might even cost less.
