View Full Version : I dunno if Vice City fixes these problems... but here are my main GTA3 gripes

1. The cops are stupid as hell. I was in fort stantion once, getting shot up by these gang members, and the cop was walking by like nothing happend, when I got up and FINALLY got a shot in he yells "get that guy" like I'm the one causing all the trouble.
How to fix? Just have the cops chase other people for a change.
2. The FBI is impossible to completly shake. I had on perfect handleing (yes, a cheat) and I was driving a banshee... no matter how sharp my turns were,, there's were always better.... You would think that if you were flying down a street at 100mph and you turned on a dime it would shake anybody...not the FBI though.
How to fix? Somehow lower thier reaction time and car's handling to some level that is remotely believeable. I mean, if a cars is on my ass, and I'm driving fast enough, and I stop on a dime, no way they should stop behind me, they should go flying forward just like they do when they are trying to cut me off.
I got some other gripes I will post later :p

yeah, i agree with those problems. something i always thought was pretty stupid is that the guy you control cant swim, wut the hell is his problem? and i wish you could just blow up everything and anything. like destroy buildings and stuff, that would be sweet.

Cops chase after other people in Vice City, not just you...
I don't know about FBI car AI...
i'd like a speedometer.
has nothing to do with the game really. but it would be cool to see how fast your going in some of thoes high speed chases.

And for some reason, I kind of want a tach. There's no real point to having one, and it'd basically just be in the way, but tachs are fun to have.

I've heard that the cops will chase down other criminals in Vice City, so one of your complaints seems to have been fixed.
Here are a few of mine:
#1: You can't go into buildings
Imagine how cool it would be to walk into a gas station and hold the place up, or maybe you could just kill everyone inside and run. It's unfortunate this wasn't in GTA3, as it would have allowed more freedom.
Fix: YES, Rockstar has put in more than 60 buildings that you can enter in Vice City, including the police station. Supposively, walking into the police station fully armed with result in a quick (but fun) death.
#2:It gets boring after a while
This was my main gripe with GTA3, and VC will probably have this problem too. I mean GTA3 was a fun game and all, but finding sadistically fun ways to destroy everything (and everyone) got boring after a couple of hours. So boring I'd put the game down for a few weeks and then start playing it again. Some of the crappy missions didn't really help much either.

I completely agree. At first I thought I'd love the game forever... But it's so damn boring now. I don't know whether to get Vice City or not, seeing as how I'm bored as hell from GTA 3 now...

Vice City is questionable...
The fun in GTA3 is that I had a feeling like I was working for somthing unlocking the islands... now that GTA:VC is open from the begining what am I working for?
Is there a new reward for completing missions(not cash related)?
I still think I will like the game because I like the basic layout of GTA3... but I can see it becomeing a closet game very fast if there is nothing to be rewarded with.

Well, it is completely acceptable that GTA3 is boring now, considering that the game is like a year old. VC will bring new things to the game, cities, people, weapons, etc. But, I wouldn't get the game. Only losers buy these games.

The Japanese version of GTA3 had a really crappy translation (lots of spelling errors and bad voice acting) and it kept locking up my system. But when it was working I enjoyed the game.

No. But I kinda do agree with you, Joeiss. Many people who have never heard of Final Fantasy and Zelda are buying a PS2 just for GTA: Vice City. I can't believe that. They just buy it becase of all the "cool" things you can do. It's true, you can do cool things but the losers you recalled are the ones who buy this game just because of cars, hookers, and killing. They never look at the gameplay. So yeah, some of them are losers.

I likes me some GTA just cuz it's uber fun...
I've had it like almost a year now and I just discovered a fun new place to hang out when the cops are chasing you... where you go past the parking garage towards those apartments were Asuka or whoever is, you pull to the left once you get to a grassy place and it leads you along a wall a little bit until you're under a bridge-like thing... but the thing is, if you have like a 3 star warning, the cop cars go driving off into the water :D and then when they blow up, pedestrians run down and fall in the water too when they go to see what's going on... :p then of course there are cops that jump down too to try to get you, but just end up landing in the water...
And so you just get a bunch of idiots falling into the water and dying :p Ok so it won't last too long, but it's funny to watch the first couple times...
I also like just flying the dodo... fun fun...
GTA = Uber fun...
