In the last editiion of Ninteno Power, there was a 5 page article about TS2, and it highlighted some of the aspects of the map maker. Lets just say this is going to be one awsome map maker!

You can create levels from the ground up. You can even place tiles that represent walls, floors, stairs, ramps, etc...

You also get to place the lighting wherever you want, determine the colour of the lighting, and how bright you want it, as well as if you want it to be steady or flicker intermitently.

After you create the level, there is preview mode which allows you to walk through the level to make sure that it is everything you imagined it to be. Then you can add items wherever you want, even enemies that will do whatever you want (i.e. walk around aimlessly, patrol an area...). Moreover, you can also create trigger events which will cause something to happen, i.e. a player picks up an item resulting in 10 enemies appearing behind him/her.

I can't wait to pick this game up. I will pobably recreate Stack, Complex, facility, Villa, and some from Counter Strike etc... (With some hidden areas of my own to give me the upper hand:burger: ) :D

So what levels will you be recreating, or closely follow with the aid of the map maker?

Yeah I hear timesplitters had a really good and easy to use map making mode... even the first one did...

And I dunno, I heard a number of people complaining about the controls on the timesplitters demo for PS2, but PSM gave the game a 9 and said it was like one of the best console FPSs in a long time...

But this topic is about map making so I'll shut up :D

DsH, the controlls are customisable. And the controlls in the final version of the game are improved in all respects over the demo.

So since we're on the topic, what would your control setup be?

Well I dunno what are the different things you can do are :p

I guess if it's just similar to goldeneye or something, then I'm too tired to think right now...

And I might get the PS2 version, if any, and if I do, the same applies...

I'm gonna pull a Justin here for once and question how well this featuire will be on the very limited GCN memory card. I mean how much space will it take up and how many can you save?

Well I dunno how much it will be on the NGC memory card, or if there is any big difference between the size of TS1 and TS2's maps, but I'm pretty sure TS1's maps only took up a few KB or something...

My controller setup would be:

control stick: aim
C-stick: walk

ehm what other actions are there? :sneaky:

I guess fire: L or R
reload: Z
open doors: A or B...
change weapon: D-pad (vertical)
change item: D-pad (horizontal)
