I think that everyone should buy StarFox and tell more people to buy starfox, so that Nintendo sees how wrong they were in leetting rare go. Dammit, so buy the game and make a record sale! And then maybe Nintendo will realize what they have done.

Hey, maybe ....... Just maybe.... Nintendo knows what they're doing.

*gasp*

i know its hard to believe. and i know you know better for them.

"Nintendo had the ability to continue its exclusive relationship with Rare, but in looking at the company's recent track record, it became clear that its value to the future of Nintendo would be limited," says Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America. "In other words, we passed on this opportunity for very good business reasons."

from nintendo.

i think they kinda have an idea of maybe knowing kinda what they're sorta maybe doing.

...WORST...IDEA...EVER...:jk: But seriously, I don't think that I'm going to do that. Nor do I think that anyone at Nintendo would give a god damn if I did. Hell, I don't even want StarFox.

*gasp* Maybe Nintendo does know what they're doing but *gasp* maybe it's not in the best interests of the gamers which doesn't really matter much because they will still get plenty of good games but *gasp* maybe those looking forward to Rare's next first person shooters or whatever could still be... *gasp*...... Dissapointed, angry, etc...

;)

I'm with FreakyBob, I don't want StarFox either. Call me a stickler, but I want the old StarFox gameplay. No magical staffs for me. :-o

some people might be upset that Titus didnt make a Superman Sequel.

*gasp*

does that mean it would be smart for the company to make another just to make some happy? ;)

I'm confused a little. Is Rare going 3rd party or making games exclusive for X-Box?

I'm not saying that, what I'm saying is instead of looking at it like

"Yay! Go Nintendo! Make yourself money!"

Hows about you look at it like a gamer... and if you're a Nintendo only gamer, the way you see that is

"Rare's gone... no more games by Rare..."

If you don't like Rare, meh... but if you liked Rare and their games, you'll be DISSAPOINTED... ;)

And sure you could also see it like

"Well Nintendo has other companies to make good games yada yada blah!"

But c'mon... a good game is a good game, and Rare made games that quite a few people enjoyed... and even if you can get other good games, wouldn't you be even MORE happy if you can get those same good games AND Rare's good games? :p

Exclusive to Microsoft... infact, I'm pretty sure they're not even just a second party, but a full first party of Microsoft... Cuz like Microsoft bought the whole company... or something...

1. Petitions (online especially) never work. For anything. Ever. Bad idea.

2. The deal's already doen except for a few things that need ironing out. Even if Nintendo did see the petition and agreed, they couldn't do anything.

I do like rare. i liked thier games. most. didnt like PD. i loved GE, and GE is the only rare game i own. but i played some of banjo and liked it. didnt like that one space one, forget its name. had a dog or something? didnt like that one at all.

Anywho. point is i liked them. and i will prolly love this Starfox game. Am i dissapointed to see them go? Nope.

Why? because altho i might miss some good games from them. What Nintendo wants and might be able to do with this money will bring more good games which will make me just as happy. Nintendo is trying to do something about thier future of having companies make games for them. they could hold onto 1, or use the money to try and get many to make games for them. I prefer them to try and get more games.

(might be risky, cuz maybe the comanies they get to make games for them wont make good games....................... Maybe rare wont make another good game............. Maybe nintendo will get many good games from other companies out of this and MS will get good games from Rare.) You never know how this turns out. But you certainly cant blame nintendo for trying. Its not like rare had been pumping out a lot of great stuff for them and they suddenly sold them.................. I bet they thought long and hard about this. And i think it will end up benificial for both Nintendo and MS.

Are you saying that you think nintendo is wrong but the only way to prove them wrong is by cheating, therefore Nintendo is really right?

Because as we know, anything and everything must be in the consumers best interest, even if nintendo looses more money then they make...

PD sold more then 2,000,000 or something, and that was not even enough for Nintendo to maintain Rare.

Whats the point of buying Starfox? We'd only be making more money for Rare... which means making more money for the X-Box.

Nintendo already knows what they are doing.

If that was a reply to what I said, I'm not saying they should always make decisions in the best interest of the consumer...

What I am saying is that if they get rid of a development team or something that I like, I'm not gonna see it as "Yay goooo Nintendo! Get that money and turn it into something better for us! w00t w00t!"

You'd also be buying YOURSELF what is supposed to be quite a good game...

Xbox, not X-Box :D

And nintendo gets some of that money too.

plus what DH said..... Would you really not want to buy a good game just because Rare gets money from it???

Well, Rare is more than capible of getting them more games... on SNES Perfect Dark, Conker, and Banjo were unheard of. Dinosaur planet was unheard of too. Rare... unlike most of Nintendo's other 2nd parties, bumped out some origanal content for N64.

That fact alone makes Rare irreplaceable in my mind...

Now that microsoft has controll over Rare, they have controll over a company very much like Nintendo... unafraid to be creative. When Nintendo sold Rare they Sold thier best 2nd party as far as origanal content in the past... and maybe origanal content in the future.

PD sold more then 2,000,000 or something, and that was not even enough for Nintendo to maintain Rare.

Imagine if Games like Conker, DK, and Perfect dark weren't used to promote the expansion pack. I'm positive the sales would have doubled. But that didn't happen, instead that 2,000,000 perfect Dark owners paid $90 for the game ($59.99 for game, $29.99 for the expansion pack).

Nintendo seemed to forget about that when they made that press release... lets add up the sales of expansion packs and Rare's Pre-Zelda:MM games. That will show what they are worth a lot better than just the game sales.

well for one...Nintendo gets more profit out of SFA than Rare, so why the hell would you saying that? And SFA looks sweet anyway.

and, a petition wouldnt work anyway, some people are acting like this is Nintendo's biggest mistake, well it isn't.
