Here in Australia, the eleventh is tomorrow. I was just watching a documentary of the towers, and it nearly brought tears to my eyes. Watching photos of people jumping out of the buildings nearly made me break down and cry. My heart goes out to all affected by the tragedy, and all Americans.
God bless America.
The 11th is tomorrow over here as well. But our stupid TV and newspaper reporters won't say anything about it until the day, so I haven't seen anything yet.
It really was a big tragedy. My heart also goes out to everyone affected.

When I saw what was happening on TV at school 364 days ago, I could hardly speak, and I was sick to my stomach. I hope something similar to this never happens again.

the terroists did that to try to prove a point, that America isnt the boss of the world and they have power too. they hate America to no end, and for that they train their own allies to comit suicide while killing thousands of people and destroying a world reknowned building. An act of violence like that isnt just wrong, its pathetic and unhuman. May those bastards rot in hell for all enternity.

yeah, and of course the networks keep showing these images over and over. I know that they want us to "remember", but it's not like I need to see the planes hitting the trade centers again and again to jog my memory. I'm all about memorial services and the like, but the other stuff isn't neccesary.

I know it's not the most popular thing to say, but there are times when I feel we're a bit over saturated in the 9/11 stuff. I mean, we were having one month aniverserys for the first 6 months. Every song, movie, sporting event, political topic, rally, ass pimple, whathaveyou is dedicated to 9/11. I really wish we could have let it go a bit over the past...300 or so days so we could have a true rembemberance of it now. I think most people have tried to forget the pain which can be a good thing, but it has cost us more than the burden of pain that we would have had to bear.
If anyone feels the same way, there is a tempoary remedy for you. Go download (or better yet, buy the whole album) bruce springstein's the rising. It makes you rembember the pain, but it also makes you realize just how fortunate you are.

Man, I am sick of this 9/11 one year anniversary allready. I am sorry, but every chanel that I go by has something about it. I know it was a horrible day and it was a huge disaster, but I am just sick of all of the specials. I am not saying that we shouldn't remember those who parrished in the attacks, or those who were affected in some way by it, but I think that this is just a sick way to get advertising money by the big television stations.
I just hope that every single yearly anniversary will be like this years. I mean, one year, 5 year, ten year, 25 year, 50 year, 100 year anniversaries are good. But if the channels on the television have 9/11 specials on every single September the 11th, that will just be horrible.
Again, these attacks were horrible, and they do need to be remembered. I am not saying that I do not want to remember that horrible day, I just think that the media is messing it up.

The thing I say is even less popular than what you said, Stonecutter :-o
It didn't have any big effect on me and I didn't get all depressed or cry or anything and it was just an interesting news story... a big interesting news story... And when I watch the documentaries and all that, it's just like I'm watching a documentary of WW2 or something... I don't get all sad and stuff when I watch stuff like that...
I woke up at like 1PM on Sept. 11th and my dad was watching the news, I asked what it was and he explained that it's a terrorist attack and the twin towers had both totally collapsed and they hit the pentagon too... And I said "That's crazy..." and walked into the kitchen... Although I did watch the news a lot, but I ALWAYS watch the news a lot so yeah...
I guess if I was directly effected in some noticable way, I would see things differently... but I wasn't so I don't... I'm a cold, self-centered bastard ;)
And I live in Arlington, where the pentagon is... Although it's a few miles away...
But yeah... I see a lot of big things differently than most people... It makes me the wuvable guy I am... :sneaky:

A lot of people jumped from buildings in order to save themselves. Some survived 9 story drops...unlike the great depression where the nuts just jumped to kill them selves.

I didn't see people jumping out of the ninth story... I just saw footage of people jumping out of the stories above the impact.

Well...they mige actually have been hit by the impact or been in the plane and blown out. If this was way after then I guess they couldnt stand the panic atmoshpere. But yeah, lots of people in the plane and hit by one were flying everywhere.

Nope, it was later... basically they figured they wouldn't get out and they'd rather fall then hit the ground and die instantly than slowly burn to death... And so they jumped out... from aaaallllll the way near the top...
And there was this program I was watching about 9/11 awhile back and someone said they'd see the people that jumped and they'd just be like splat and their eyes popped out of their heads and... yeesh

Like all of the people who were on the plane or on the floors that the plane hit were disinegrated.
