Does anyone of you guys own Tokyo Extreme Racer: ZERO ???

Anyways I think it's a great arcade game. I just beat all 400 guys and I wanted to brag, but no one here said anything about this game. It really is worth a rental at least. It might get you hooked and that's it after that.

I played Tokyo Extreme Racer for Dreamcast, it was pretty good... never knew it was released on Ps2. Ps2 has too many damn sleeper hits.

The PS2 version is actually ways above the dreamcast version.

There are:

-much better visuals
-400 reacers you have to beat (with 60 wonderers that have some whiered requirements)
-almost 200 cars to choose from
-almost on par with Gran Turismo new parts/customizing
-visual change of the car with the upgrades on it (especially the aero parts) Gran Turismo doesen't have this.
-better game engine

Is it a Gran Turismo- type game, where you have to race for money to customize cars and buy new ones???

Well kind of. But the gameplay is a little more arcade like thatn GT not so simulation, and you race on the real highways of Tokyo. You go behind a racer you see, and flash your lights. A meter bar appears, like in fighting games, and you race trying to stay ahead and off the side walls while avoiding traffic. THe meter of the guy behind decreases slowly or faster, depending of the distance it falls behind, or if he hits too many things.
Once you defeat a guy you do get money to upgrade cars and customize.

There is traffic on the roads. When my friend had this game, I played it. A few times it seemed like the game got cheap. I was in the other lane just about to pass a vehicle, when it all of a sudden jumps in front of me, it ****ed me up. But overall, its a good game.

lol. I know what you mean. It's those truckers I tell you. They don't like racers, so when they see one, they sudenly change lanes to block you off. Many times if you're ahead, blast past them honking, and they will block the computer racer. But many times they see you coming and they mess you up.
