Did ne body else pick this one up yet?

I would have to say it is very good The only thing I don't like is the fact that they have added in the flying levels, but after getting used to them, they are not really that bad. Graphically, the game looks great. Everything is pretty sharp, but it doesn't offer progressive scan which kinda sucks. For neone who is a fan of the series, I would have to say it is a game worth buying.

It's already out in the states? Here we only have the X-Box version. PS2 and GC ones will take a few weeks/months.

IGN gave it like a 6.9.... I might rent it if I feel like it but I'm not buying it.

I always had plans to rent this, not buy it. But I don't rent games, so don't expect impressions soon.

Here's my thoughts:

1) It's made by Acclaim. Always gotta question how good it is.
2) It's a multiplatform game, which generally means it'll suck on all 3 consoles and not take advantage of any.
3) Acclaims promotes it like hell. Hell, usually the games can sell themself by fanboys alone, but this game seemed to need people changing their name to Turok, people ruining their babies lives (Abortion may be good for the baby in this case), and offering free shipping almost every day at EBgames and GameStop, giving the impression it needs help selling.

I haven't actually read the IGN reviews, but I got a big feeling this game is a flop.

Its really not that bad, I like it. I haven't played through the game fully, but so far it pretty much another Turok game. Reading the review at ign, it seem like they set themselves up for a fall by having way to high of expectations for the game to begin with

Hmm... so this game isn't as revolutionary as they wanted it to be?? Too bad... It really sounded cool, being able to destroy the whole forest (ehm, I'm a forester:-o), but I guess it isn't that great.

My review can be found here:

All in in all it is a passable title, but with some glaring flaws that drag it down time and time again.

In Hyper Magazine (Australian gaming), they gave it 82% (for the PS2 version, but said that they're all pretty much the same except for some slight graphical enhancements or something). Considering I'm a fan of the series, I'll probably end up buying it, but I'm gonna hire it out first, just to make sure it isn't too bad.
