at least that's what IGN says...

http://ps2media.ign.com/ps2/image/sh3_0902_17.jpg

I dunno... could be a younger Dahlia Gellespi or something? I don't really recognize her all that much...

http://www.planetps2.com/shasylum/images/dahlia.jpg

meh....

Maybe this game takes place like before the events of SH1... :sneaky:

Anyways maybe they're wrong about it being a familiar face, cuz that's the only person I can think of when I see that face and it doesn't even look a whole lot like her so

Anyways there are more images here

I'm not like Stu, I'm too lazy to post all those pictures in the same topic thing...

maybe its cybil or that nurse chick, but i remember ign or some other website having an interview with the guy who created silent hill and they asked him if that chick was in any previous silent hill games and he said no, shes a new character.

Yeah they said that the MAIN character is an all new character, and she is... But that lady in the picture isn't the main character, and I don't think they ever said they wouldn't have any characters from past games as NPCs :p

In an interview about SH2 (before it came out of course) they were like "Are we going to see any familiar faces in this game?" and the developer guy was like "I wouldn't rule out the possibility..."

But there ended up not being any familiar characters :p unless the final boss was infact Dahlia... cuz it looked like her... the clothes and face and such :hmm:

Maybe it is Dahlia... Maybe they will try to fit her in every game somehow... :p In SH1 she was some weird person who was using Harry for her own little thing, in SH2 she was the EVIL PERSON who was toying with James (and ended up being the final boss) and in this game she's younger and has some other role :hmm:

Nah I doubt it ;)

But no, it doesn't look like Lisa... *looks for a picture of Lisa*...

http://www.planetps2.com/shasylum/images/lisa.jpg

I guess the lady looks more like Lisa than a young Dahlia, but really I don't think she looks much like either... The face isn't all that similar and the hair is a lighter color... but meh...

And it's not Cybil...

And it's not anybody from the second game... So I dunno :p

I was watching the trailer at my friend's house, but the computer froze like halfway through... :p

"that chick was in it and she was talking about prophecies and other mystical crap."

Which is exactly what Dahlia did in SH1 ;)

Well, pretty much what she did... "THE DEMON IS AWAKENING! SPREADING THOSE WINGS! YADA YADA BLAH BLAH YOU MUST USE THE FLAURUS!"

Have you played SH1? I assume you have since you said maybe it's Cybil or the Nurse Chick... But still... yeah it probably is just some new person they added to the series, but still... it'd be fun to have Dahlia in the game again rambling on and on about confusing stuff ;)

the SH story has always confused me, hopefully they clear some things up in SH3. Remember that strange siren kinda sound that you hear a lot in SH1 when you go into the alternate dimension? i listened really hard in SH2 and i heard the sound most frequently when the pyramid head things would leave or walk away. remember when you fight the pyramid heads for the last time in SH2 and theres that crazy looking mark on the floor? that looks exactly like the mark of Samael (sp?), and you cant ever kill the pyramid heads, they just walk away from you when they hear that sound. my thoughts are Samael controls them. its also strange that apparently the monsters in the town arent exactly real because not everyone can see them or is affected by them. james and eddie have haunting pasts of murder and are both kinda insane, perhaps the monsters they see are just delusional apparations of their sick twisted minds. that chick with the knife (cant remember name) is haunted by a past of pain and torment and she apparently sees fire and pain everywhere she looks (she can also see those weird monster things that she calls daddy, perhaps a creation of her mind of how she sees her father). and in the hospital when james finds Laura he says something like "i'm amazed you have been walking around this town by yourself and you dont have a scratch on you" and she says "why should i?" clearly indicating that she doesnt see the monsters or the other horrible things that go on in the town, shes just a simple nice little girl looking for a friend in an abandoned town. and maria is apparently just a creation of james' mind to help him through his grief over his dead wife. well thats my 2 cents, care to share your point of view?

SPOILERS AND THE LIKE (^-^

James sees weird crazy monsters

Eddie sees normal people, but they're all laughing at him and insulting him and the like...

Angela sees like... Well I guess fire and such (I never thought of that, but it makes sense since she said "You see it to?" when there's a bunch of fire around near the end of the game)... but also just an empty town... she's searching for her mom, but all she finds is emptiness... but then eventually she runs into her dad (which she hates, I think... didn't she kill him? )... she doesn't see the monster James does, she sees her dad...

And the little girl just sees nothing... no monsters, no people she doesn't like... just an empty town :p

And I don't know if Samael was behind it... maybe though... it did look a lot like the mark of Samael, but I'm pretty sure it was a little different... sure it was a circle and all with stuff in it, but I don't think it was 100% the same...

And Maria is not a creation of James' mind to help him through the grief of his dead wife or whatever, Maria is a monster created by the town to torment him... she dies like 3 times in the game while James just has to stand there and watch, unable to help her (he couldn't get the elevator doors open, then he just finds her dead in the prison cell after she was alive not long before that, and then she gets skewered by the pyramid heads at the end up at some place he couldn't reach)... Which is what was happening with his wife... She had that disease thing that was killing her, and the doctor's couldn't do anything and neither could he, so he had to watch his wife die slowly of the horrible disease and eventually she started getting really like... bitchy, and he couldn't stand to see her suffer and the like, and he got it over with and killed her himself... :D

Edit: Actually, maybe I'm wrong about that... Maybe she is like a creation of James' mind, or just a real person, but the town ends up using her in the way I mentioned before... Killing her off, then "reseting" her somewhere else with no memory of what happened... then killing her off again, etc :p

Edit again: Ok this is getting confusing >_< I've never read the plot guide to that "Born from a Wish" scenario from the Xbox version of SH2... but apparently Maria meets some person who wants her to get this white liquid (White Chrism... which I believe is one of the items you need to get as James to get the special ending where he goes out to some Island on the lake) and then she gives it to the person and the person tells her that she's a ghost... Both of them was dead... Maria is dead and the guy is dead... and he tells her that he needs to like... watch out for James... and like... deceive and manipulate him :hmm:

here:

"First off, Maria (Mary) and Ernest are dead. Period. Ernest died years
ago, probably, given that time is a weird factor in this game. Maria is
dead because she IS Mary."

END SPOILER AIYEEE! (^-^

At least that's what I read at gamefaqs... I suggest you go there and search for Silent Hill (both 1 and 2 if you want) and find the "plot guide" or whatever it's called... If you're interested in the series, they're really good reads and such  A bit long though, but very interesting...

Of course, they're nothing official, they're just made by this guy who pays way too much attention to the stuff in the games and sticks it in the plot guide so everybody can understand it :p Well I mean like I said it's nothing official, but if you read them, you'll realize that the stuff he says DOES make sense so yeah...

Maybe I'll just get a link for you...

Silent Hill 1 plot guide: Here (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/silent_hill_plot.txt)

Silent Hill 2 plot guide: Here (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/silent_hill_2_plot.txt)

And it looks like someone else put up a plot guide for both SH1 and 2, but the two I listed there were the ones I read before so yeah... I dunno if the new ones are any different than the ones I read, but meh... maybe I'll read them later...

I think this post is a bit too long :D

wut a coincedence, thats exactly the plot guides i read so many months ago. that guy was a good writer, he said he was (or still is) a writer for video game strategy guides or something and he studies literature and stuff so a lot of the crap he said really made sense (although some of it was kinda bullsh*t i thought) but before i read his plot guides i didnt understand hardly crap all about SH1 and SH2's stories (especially SH2). there pretty freakin big plot guides too so anyone who reads them must really have an ambition to discover the mystery that is SH (e.g me, you and nemesis). And might I add, the pyramid heads were the craziest sons of b*tches i ever seen or heard of, friggin creepy.

Edit: there ya go nemesis

Yup, I think he says in some part of the guide that he writes for Brady Games. Also, add me to that lists
(e.g me and you). :D
About that woman, I don't think she has been in any previous Silent Hill games. Also, isn't Samael the one who's always behind the whole Silen hill stuff. I like SH's story but they are leaving way too much plot-wholes to explain later( I mean, not in the stories of the characters but the story about the city. One of the major things I want to know is why the hell is there so many people in the bottom of the lake) . And I am getting impatient to find out (which will drive me into buying the third game, which is what they want ) But I would buy it anyway. I think that has to do with the scary factor. Like they said, it wouldn't be so scary if they explained everything. but they are exagerating it IMO.

Yeah they don't really explain a whole lot of things, but maybe what they plan on doing is make game after game introducing new things and opening new possibilities, then when the games start getting old and repetitive (like the RE series is getting ;) ) instead of dragging it on, they'll do this BIG FINALE WHERE THEY PUT A BUNCH OF THINGS TOGETHER AND IT ALL MAKES PERFECT SENSE!...

:sneaky:

Ok I doubt it but still... maybe eventually they'll start explaining things from the older games while introducing other mysterious in the new games :D

the creator of SH always said that wut you dont know is the most frightening thing of all. like the pyramid heads, lets pretend that in SH2 you were playing the game and you found out that the pyramid heads, before they became weird psycho henchman living as prison wardens in an underground civil war prison tourtering and slaughtering prisoners for their own amusement, were 2 guys named Tom and Bill and they used to own a ice cream factory, that sure would bring the scare level down :D

btw, you know that article found in the garbage outside the apartment that talked about the psycho guy who brutally murdered 2 kids with an axe and then later killed himself in prison by stabbing his neck with a soup spoon? remember that in the article the psycho guy said something like "i didnt do it! i'm sorry, it wasnt me!! it was the red demon!! i did it, but it wasnt me!!" that sounds a lot like eddies rambling, and i wonder who the red demon could be....:)
