Sanfransisco? Your joking right? They have to play the Braves 1st round. Being a Brave hater, I would love to see them beat the braves, but I just dont see it happening. But I do hope they can, Because I like the sound of Giants-Cardinals more than Braves-Cardinals for the NLCS.

Hm well I dont like tomorrows matchup of Johnson-Schilling, but the cardinals beat Johnson last year in the Playoffs, so who knows. Morris will have to be on his game, that is for sure. As for Schilling, Cardinals Scored 6 runs off him just a little over a week ago, I think they can beat him. I honestly dont think they will let the same thing happen that happened last year, that being, them getting beat despite great pitching. Like getting beat 2-1 and stuff like that. Whatever happens, its going to be a great time, so enjoy the ride.

Damn right it looks good. The cardinals just Hammered the best pitcher in baseball. And in the press confrence, Johnson even said some of the pitches that they hit were good pitches. That crowd was noisy as hell at the first pitch, but they shut up pretty damn quick after thay saw that pathatic display by Johnson. Should be interesting to see what the Cardinals can do aginst Schilling, whom they are 2-0 aginst over the season. I really think this is finally their year. I cant wait to see what happens.

And St. Louis wins again. This time beating the possibly the second best pitcher in the National League. Not a killing, but a 2-1 win is still a win. I smell a sweep, and I smell the Cardinals in the World seires:cool:

What makes you think that? The Cardinals beat Johnson last year in the Playoffs, did it again this year, what makes you think they couldnt do it again? Also, the Cards beat Schilling 2 times in the regular season, and again yesterday in the playoffs, they obviously can beat him, why the hell couldnt they do it again if they had to? People underestimate the Cardinals, but this is they year we prove people like Stu wrong. So stu, I suggest you shut up unless you have something to back that statement up with.
Yes Rolen was hurt in a colission of him and an arizona baserunner, he definatley wont play tomorrow in game 3, but hopefully he will be back sometime in the NLCS, but its too early to tell for sure.

personally, I'd love to see the Cards beat the Diamondbacks. I think Schilling is a cocky bastard.

Johnson - 24 wins, well over 300 strikeouts
Schilling - 23 wins, over 300 strikeouts

Doesent the fact that Johnson has a losing record aginst the Cardinals in his career mean anything? And the Fact that they havent lost to Schilling once this year? What, you think they have just gotten lucky all those times?

The man has every right to succeed. No need to root against him because he wanted to play for a team that works together and actually plays as a team. Also, a town that loves and supports baseball.
As far as Drew goes, can't say it was right of him to put up a stink about having to be on the Phillies, but can you blame him?

You don't understand, Rolen was a jerk about his situation in Philly. He never took a curtain call in Philly, then one of his first homeruns in St. Louis, he takes a curtain call...that's a slap in the face to the fans. I don't have a problem with not liking the organization, but the fans are a different story. And as you know, Philly fans can hold a grudge (look at Kobe Bryant) I still respect Curt Schilling though, he was still good to the fans, so I'm happy for his recent success.
Jason1

The Cardinal FANS are what makes a curtian call happen, not the players. If they dont take that curtian call when the fans are standing up and cheering long after they hit a home run, they will continue to do so until they get one. I dont think the Philly fans demand curtian calls like cardinal fans do, so him giving a curtian was not a slap on the face at all. Its pretty much a must if the fans want it.

Wrong again...Even if baseball fans may be Philly's weakest link...it's still Philly and they ARE still intense. Rolen knew when the fans wanted a curtian call...it's a bit obvious if after you have a multi-homerun game and the fans cheer loudly...I've witnessed it, it was a blatant call for a curtain call and Rolen didn't give one. This happened multiple times also. So, don't act like just because the Cardinals may have 20,000 more people out to the game, like it's not hard to see when the fans want a curtain call. You can't say that I'm wrong, I watch at least 150 Phillies games a year, I would know.

Cardinals are plying good, and they do deserve a big hand for beating the the best pitchers in the national league.
But seeing them in the final or winning a series this year, i don't know, they're just missing something, and it's not offence.

Guy, c'mon now. They won all, but 1 WS in the last 4 years. (2 in the last 5 if you count this year). They've won the right to play in the postseason every year since '96 and like Anaheim just showed us, the postseason is what matters. Sure they didn't win 100 every year, but does anyone? And really did anyone ever expect them or anyone else to match 114 (3rd most ever) wins in '98? The Mariners did, but they didn't even make the playoffs this year with pretty much the same team. The Yanks are the most consistent team season-to-season in the AL right now...
(And yes Steinbrenner's money makes a difference. But they make money because people come to their games and buy tickets and jerseys and watch them on TV. Know why? THEY EARN THE MONEY BY WINNING, consistently...)

Aight, this is an argument I can't win. Yes, the team is rich as hell as yes we can (and do) pretty much buy World Series, but you got to give the players and coaches some credit for winning and making the fans care enough to make the team even richer. The Rangers and Mets pay their players a ****load of money too (I know, not as much as the Yanks) but look, they are still sub-.500 teams...
and BTW, your starting to sound like a cub fan with the ''Next Year'' comment :-o
:(
That's the thing that is horrible about baseball, you can buy your way to the World Series. Justin and I were talking earlier today and we were saying how baseball is so predictable. I mean if you look at football the Rams and Steelers both have losing records. Who would have ever guessed?

Yes, I suppouse they deserve a little credit for winning all these times, you would think they might have a bad year at some point but they never really do. And the Mets are funny, they were suppoused to be good, spent money and all, and they were pure crap. And every year the Cubs seem to improve themselves, only to lose more games then the previous year. That whole Franchise dosnet know how to win, from the players, right up to the GM.
That's the thing that is horrible about baseball, you can buy your way to the World Series. Justin and I were talking earlier today and we were saying how baseball is so predictable. I mean if you look at football the Rams and Steelers both have losing records. Who would have ever guessed?
While you make a good point in some ways, baseball is still pretty unpredictable I think. First and foremost, I dont think anybody predicted the Cardinals to sweep the Diamondbacks in the division seires, except for me of course. And who would have thought Seattle would have not even made the playoffs this year after having one of the best season in the history of baseball last year. And there is also the Twins, they were on Bud Seileg's **** list, and now they are in the in the ALCS.
Jason...didn't you say "what till next year" every time the Cardinals lost too?
