Day One
Drove for 2 hours. Stopped off at the most digusting McDonalds. An old folks tour stopped off there at the time on two large couch buses. My foot was stepped on by multiple walkers and canes. A lot of little kids with no shirts on too. Arrived at Binghamton college. Hardly anyone was there and almost everything was locked. Spoke with the RA there who looked just like Kevin Smith except for a huge rash on his right leg he kept twitching with. Got lost many many many many times looking for camp site. Drove through a great town called Tioga and then arrived at the camp site of Buttermilk Falss and set up the tents. Went on AIM a little while with a cell phone. Woke up to the sound of mosquitos buzzing around inside my tent. I was moving my latern all about trying to find and catch it. Someone or something was attracted by the light and came walking out of the woods. I turned off the light and sat quietly as the person walked right up next to my tent. He stood there for a few minutes doing who knows what and then left. Hardly got any sleep.

Day Two
Had a 9am appointement at Cornell University. Got lost on the way there and had to ask for directions many a time. Didn't make it. Got a chance to walk around the campus. Nicest looking school ever. Went to a little info session and attempted to help a student there with her crossword puzzle. What do you call a baby elephant? Went back later for a tour. Again I say: nicest school ever. Got to see things, some of which included a carving of a guy picking his nose, the famous clock tower which once had a 60 lb pumpkin stuck on the top, the freakingly expensive hotel there which we used for their AC, and the rest of the beautiful campus. In this city of Ithaca college students to townpeople are in a ratio of 1:1. Had dinner at a vegetarian restaurant called Moosewood which only had 4 things on the menu. Got lost going back to the camp site. Poured that night. Water leaked in and I woke up soaking wet.

Day Three
Had to pack up the muddy muddy tent. A real pain it was. Then it was off to Syracuse. Made it to the city ok but had trouble locating the university. After finding it and asking some students (who were a little too nice) for directions I found the building I needed and watched a little video there. Kinda corny. A ton of broadcasters came from this school and they really stressed that. Bob Costas... Cute girl took us around for a tour. One building with called Shine and inside there was dining area called Cube. Coincidence? I think not. Nice school but stressed sports too much for my tastes. Drove to the second camp site. It was a little place in Oswego which is a little rural town on Lake Ontario. Very nice sunset there. Wrote some more of my AP Bio report, had a can of soup, and went to bed. Best sleep a had on this trip.

Day Four
Woke up at 5am to try to take a crap. Fishermen wake up early too it seems. Didn't give me a chance... At sun up I was able to finally use the bathroom and take a shower. Peppermint soap is not fun. Sketched a pic of one of the cabins at this location and headed to Oswego College. It was suppose to be a 5 min drive but not to risk things I left 2 hours early. Sat at a little pinic table for a while and then headed in for the info session and tour. For $50 I could have my own radio station there or have a show on there tv station. Eh. Overall not very impressive. Drove for two hours to the town of Dansville where I set up camp at Stony Brook Park. There were a bunch of annoying kids here. I muttered at them for a while, roasted marshmellows, and went to bed.

Day Five
Had a 10am tour at Geneso College. A good college and big on computers. A lot of people never even use paper, they just bring a laptop to every class. The campus has an internet cloud over it so you can connect to it with your laptop from anywhere on campus and save to their server. First tour where I met someone else from NYC. She was from the top HS in the city and had already checked out Harvard and Yale. Damn. After the tour I took a walk in the rain down Geneseo's Main Street. Pathetic. Only one Chinese Food restaurant. First menu I've ever seen with no kanji on the menu next to the English. Had some chop suey and headed back to camp. Built a huge-ass fire reaching four feet high. Came very close to burning down the forest there. It then poured. I was swinging on the swings there during the time and that's where I stayed. Feeling Danchastu-ish I ran around in the rain slipping and falling mud. It then stopped and I tried to dry myself by the fire which was still alive even after all that. It started pouring again when I went to sleep. After a while the tent started floating. It was rained so much I was actually sleeping over 5 inches of rain. The rain was leaking through my tent and it was a very difficult time sleeping.

Day Six
With everything covered in mud I packed up and started out on the 6 hour ride home. After getting lost back at Binghamton I stopped off at a little diner called Mar J's Diner. It seemed like one of those diners you see in movies where you who get in trouble with a motocycle gang. The waitress there was a hot girl about my age. She watched her soap opera as she mopped and I watched her. :stud: Back on the road with my ass going numb I finally reached good old NYC. Felt so good to see home again. Sadly though my sister's gerbil, Star, died while I was gone the day before. We had a little funeral for her and cheered up my sister with candy and movies.

Well, that was my little college visiting trip summed up. A lot more stuff happened but I swear that man was dead when I found him.

My God... you got to go to Cornell? That has to be neat.

I went to Binghamton once. It was 7th grade with my Grandpa. We were on our way to Cooperstown. I remember it flooding near the Super 8 we were at. Other than that... I can't relate to a fun college visit trip. I just went to a local school who's only claim to fame was that they beat Michigan State in basketball(Wright State). And that was when I was already there.
