You people know what I'm talking about, right? There was Mario is Missing, Mario's Time Machine, Mario fun With Letters, Mario Paint, (Which I actually liked) and many more. Did Nintendo sell the Mario liscense (Like they did with the Zelda liscense) to some company that makes learning games, then buy it back after seeing how crappy the Mario games they made were?

Nintendo was going out of business back then? I thought they were going great with SNES? I wouldn't make a **** load of games to try and make a profit. Unless, like you said. Fool the lil' ones into buying it.:D

No, Nintendo wasn't going out of bussiness. In fact, I think the SNES is their most successful system to date.

I just had to get technical.:D If you meant console, than yeah, SNES is the most successful. But if you mean by all hardware they have made, GB(C) is the most successful.

Nintendo never sold off mario, they just tried to exploit its success as much as it could in games and movies, and blankets, and everything.

I loved that show. I wish something like that would come on nowadays. The cartoons on now are absolute crap. You know, like that Sponge Bob garbage.

I'm not sure why Nintendo licensed the Mario world out to make the Mario Numbers and kids games and Mario is Missing. I know the Phillips CD-i junk (Hotel Mario, and the 2 Zelda FMV games) were part of an appeasment deal when Nintendo pulled the plug on the Super CD project with Phillips- which came after Sony and the Playstation dealie.
Mario Paint was in-house and if you actually used the mouse and played around with the program a bit you could do some weird cool stuff. Not that I remember... never owned it.
With the license they would've made a big fist load of money on it no matter how crappy it was: the company (think it was Mindscape) had to pay a license to make a game for SNES then hand over added royalties due to sales: Making Nintendo more money.
And for the record, I remember the live action Mario show. It was the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. They did 2 more cartoons after that: Mario 3 and Mario World. None of the 3 were anygood except for the Super Show which had wrestler Captain Lou Albano as Mario.... apparently an anime based on the original Super Mario was released in Japan in 1985 to coincide with the game's release. No idea what it was like....
Going by total sales and disregarding Game Boy the NES is still Nintendo's most successful system. Show the SNES did, admittedly, kick much ass.

Was just watching and ep of Super Mario World. Mario sounds like Danny DeVitto and Luigi is a little bit like Rodney Dangerfield. Peach has a nasal voice. And Yoshi sounds like a little cute talking dino would. It started off with Mario and Peach playing tennis using fireballs as tennisballs. Yoshi was the ballboy and kept eating the fireballs. Then King Koopa and his kids led all the cave people of the village to some circus and I lost interest there. They do use sound effects from the game though.

I think I actually remember that episode.... The stuff I remember are the musical numbers from 3. Which were terrible. I remember a couple epsiodes of Super Mario Bros. 3 that were actually pretty good.
There was one were Princess Toastool was on vacation and one of the Koopa Kids (or whatever they're called) makes a robot to replace her and he tricks Mario with it. EVEN THOUGH THE PRINCESS HAD A TAN. She was in a one piece bathing suit the entire episode and beat the Koopas by surfing. Not sure if it was lava or what.
I also remember an episode were Mario have a fish bowl on his head and got some sort of undersea queen falling love with him. I'm pretty sure Toadstool gets into a cat fight with her....
