To all of you fellow GT members, read this for a good scare. It is quite long though, but read all of it. I did!

The guy finds a misterious cave, investigates it with a friend and dies. :)
I haven't read the whole thing, but that's what I think happens.
Please send him a PM and don't spoil it here for the others.
thats f*cked up......
maybe he didnt die, but he was supposed to update it the day after he got bac, or earlier
BUT, the last time he went to teh cave was 5/19/01
so apparently, him and both of his friends DID die or havent updated lol

He needed closure by visiting the cave. I need closure by finding out what the hell happened to him.
Btw, here are some pics of what a hodag is suppose to look like:

well I have read all the way to just after they took Joe in the cave. This is some freaky ****. Im tired of reading though...I will read more later. This whole story intruges me though, because It cant be fake, these people dont sound like lunatics, and they took the pictures to prove it, although I find it a little strange that none of the pictures of the circle rock and the heiroglyphics came out. Oh well, maybe all questions will be answered by the end of this story.

Remember "The Blair Witch Project"? Same deal. It also was made to seem real, but wasn't.
This is just somebody else doing the same thing.

With Blair Witch they go into the creepiness almost soon as they left. And everything becomes too coincidental. Didn't care for the movie.
This could be fake for the fact that he couldn't get pics of that room, and the fact that he left the video camera behind. Everything else is pretty believable.

***********This might have some spoilers, so be careful.************ (Funny, spoilers for a story.. that seems different. :) )
I'm pretty sure that all of the "mystery" part is a work of fiction. And even if it isn't... I'd rather believe otherwise. :distress:
It is told very well, though. I especially like how everything from the name they give the cave to all the explanation of caving he gives on the fourth page ties in to what happens to them in the end. And I love how much suspense builds up just by the very calm and thorough writing and subtle hints to what will happen in the end.
Though I was glued to my chair through the whole thing, I think the things that gave it away are, like Danchastu said, the photos of the cave magically don't appear and the video camera is left behind (so absolutely no evidence). Also the guy just feels compelled to go to the lookout to see the city lights and mysteriously meets Joe there. And then conveniently they never gave the name of the cave to anyone so even if someone wanted to find them they couldn't. (When they expect to be in enough danger to carry a gun then you would think they would definitely tell at least one person so they could be found.)
Even despite that, with all the immense amount of detail given about the cave some other caver would know what cave it was. And this sort of thing would be all over the news; this is the kind of story the presses couldn't wait to break.
But since those pictures seem very real and the hard work they went through and documented seems real, I'm guessing they found this hole, wanted to explore it like they said, opened it up, went through, found nothing interesting, and then made up a cool little story.
My theory, anyway. :D

I agree with manasecret's theory.
Thus, I am crowning Jason1 and Danchastu "Mr. and Mrs. Gullible 2002." (I'm leaving it up to the two of you to work that one out on your own...)
This story is too fake to be real. Just another "Blair Witch Project," as it seems...

Ah, forgot all about the meeting Joe part. That seemed extremely coincidental. Probably the least believable part of the story.
As for the hole didn't it look like it was painted black or did the hole go down from there or something? A little bit confused as to the black part.

I think it kinda goes a little down from there, or maybe the picture is taken from a low angle. You can see the shadow on the left and the depth of the cave is visible.
