Sega mentioned that the content of Eternal Arcadia (Skies of Arcadia) will be cleaned up to suit younger players. Scenes such as smoking, inadequate expressions and dialogues, and the use of alcoholic beverages will be removed from the game.

Maybe Sega could have released two versions of the game, like they do with music... I'll still buy the game though, it doesn't really change much does it.

That's sorta dumb. Why can't they just leave it like it is?! Nintendo prolly told them to do it.
Btw, where'd you get this?

Don't be so quick to blame Nintendo. Nintendo is the one who who supported Conker, ED, Resident Evil, and those games. Nintendo knows they need more games for mature gamers.
If I would have to guess, I'd say Sega is responsible for this. And if so, I'm probably not picking it up. I'm not gonna give money to a company who gives me an edited version of the game. Either give it to me right, or not at all. I got the DC version to keep me happy.

No, Microsoft probably told them to do it ;)
"*MS slips Sega some cash*... Take out some of the bad stuff in SoA on NGC to start up that whole kiddy topic again... Oh and *Slips Sega more cash* there's your payment for Panzer Dragoon Orta... *shifty eyes* *slips back into the shadows*"

Thats is idiotic. In sega's mind, We're too kiddy for a few mild bad words and some beer bottle's, but we're not to kiddy for sweaty women in bikini's(beach spikers) Now does that make any sense?

Well, there are different teams under the Sega name, such as Over works, Sonic Team etc. It must be their choices . Beach Spikers and SoA are developed by different teams. I did hear a statement quite a while ago which said that Nintendo weren't going to stick there big ore in in the making of games by other developers anymore.

Well, I wonder how many of you folks played and completed the game?
I mean editted the game (Atleast the US DC version) really won't change the game much.
I mean there are a couple of drinking scenes but I mean they don't do much to the game (Ok, I mean one game is a drunk and when you clean him up he joins your crew but eh). The sexual innuedos may severely cripple one villian though. I mean he is one perverted freak.
I do think the censoring will ruin the game but eh.

Yeah it will be cleaned up... just like the American Version of the game on the DC.... They aren't cleaning it up for a Nintendo audiance... they are cleaning it up for a western audiance.

Do you find it weird that they clean it up for us? Japan is such a better place, less crime and all that stuff. America is full of drugs, sex, and violence. Our 13 year old kids are having sex, but people are afraid of the same kids seing any kind of sexual remarks in games?
Only in America.

In Japan everyone has sex with 13 year olds... its a nation of perverts and petiphiles

Well, here is a list of stuff that was changed from the Japanese to the USa version. Does any of it look familar as to what is being removed from the newest Jap version?

So hopefully the GameCube version is just the DC American version and not toned down even further. Would have liked the semi-transparent clothes though. America is such a sensitive country.

It's not America or Japan in General, it's the d@mn ESRB and the mother ****ing Soccer moms!
-Begin Secenario-
Soccer Mom X is afraid that a little Alchohol in Game Y, wil cause her sone to go to Liquor Store Z, so she calls the ESRB and complains.
The ESRB, probably formed of Soccor Moms and Political @$$holes decide to review the game, enter Soccer Mom #2 and the ESRB:
ESRB President: Alright, Power-On the Game
Soccer Mom #2: Look at those skipmy cloths, can you imagine you daughter dressed like that Soccer mom #3?
Soccer Mom #3: She'll "NEVER" be allowed to wear those kinds of clothes, what about little Johnny Soccer Mom #4?
Soccer Mom #4: I'm not letting him play this, it's pitiful:
Soccer Mom's #2,3, and 4: THIS MUST BE EDITED!
*ESRB Powers Off the Game*
ESRB President: We'll get on the phone with SEga and have them change some things, I'll call Soccer Mom #1 back adn let her know.
-End Secenario-
It's because of these Cowerdly mother ****ing @$holes that all Anime is "Edited", (I prefer the term Butchered) for V, and DVD's are left "Intact" in the "Original Fomrat", it's the reason CD's come in a "Clean" version and a "Dirty" version (more like a crappy version and a real version), it's the reason that movied ae "Edited" and an "Alternate (Aka real) ending" is relaesed on DVD.
Let me tell you something, These "idiots" who censor eerything are geting real old real fast, the SOB's wanted to change the name of the second LOTR movie, and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts (oh wait, I can't make a bet, the soccer moms will arrest me), that some whiny b*tch decided the game was too "Raunchy" while reviewing it and had it edited, is PC "Pollitcally Corrtect" or is it "Pure Crap" (oh wait, they've censored that too), I forgot?

its not like the game is going to suck because they replace a guy smoking to one scratching his head or flippin a knife or something. I mean we don't have Skies of Arkadia(sp): starring barney or some shiat.

True, but I ahte Censor's of any kind. I have to get my Aniem on DVD because they "Cut" te TV Versions, I have to check my CD's for "Explicit Lyrics" to make sure I don't ahvethe "Clean" version, and I really don't like my games being edited. If I buy Doom II for the PC and see some guys entrails strewn across the flor, it had better stay that way in a "port" ot another system. If I see a game made in Japan where a guy pulls a knife on someone, that scene had beter stay intact in the US Version, and if Barney Dances around on a TV for 5 hours straight in the US, he had better to the same d@mn thing on every other TV in the world!
Case and point: I... Hate... CENSORS!!!!!!!
