IGN rated Madden 2002 a 8.8 (Gamecube and Xbox) and 9.1 (PS2).

I was actually surprised at the number of little enhancements Madden NFL 2003 has over its predecessor

Isn't that what you're always getting on NFL 2K's case for? And now NFL 2K3 is supposed to have a million and a half improvements, and Madden has few. Haha!

:p

I thought they were saying that in a positive way. Like, they were saying that they were surprised because EA fixed up every little thing....

the 9.1 for the PS2 version is bogus, since it received 8.0 for lasting appeal.

Aaron Boulding (XBOX.ign.com) wrote both version's reviews, and he didn't take into account the online feature of the PS2 version, since the servers aren't up yet.

And considering both the Xbox and PS2 version both got 8.0 for lasting appeal, it makes no sense since the PS2 version is going online.

So considering last year's Madden got a 10.0 for lasting appeal, this years would be better so it also gets a 10.0, raising the score of Madden 2003 for PS2 to about 9.3 or 9.4.

My say on this---
Don't really care too much. I dont take IGN's reviews into consideration.

The only thing that will end up making me buy 2k3 over madden is the simple fact that I cant stand John Madden, and I refuse to buy anything endorsed by him.

No I think the PS2 version should get a higer score then the Xbox one. It's not like the Madden 2002 uses the Xbox power in any way shape or forum but it does start to push the PS2 hardware when EA get off there fat ass's and start making games for the Xbox and not just PS2 ports which do nothing for the system then maybe they can get a Xbox game with a better review till then they can go ****.

And yes I do think each game should be marked aganst the system it's on and not all the same
