This is the first time I've heard about a movie based the Narnia books. The Chronicles of Narnia is one of my favorite fantasy series so I'm pretty excited about a movie based on it. Even better, they're planning on making it a movie franchise which means we might get a movie for every book :D

I didn't bother to read the link, but I could have sworn that there was a TV series about these books about 8 or 9 years ago...

There was an old cartoon movie and play based on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe though I've never heard of a series...

PBS used to air movies/mini-series of Narnia. Some british-type tv thingy.

There are already a couple of those. Um...there is a silver chair one, a lion the witch and the wardrobe, prince caspian methinks, and voyage of the dawn treddor(sp?). I got them from a library a long time ago when I was like in elementary school....

Says he's starting with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, but the prequel was the Magician's Nephew. Gonna throw out the beginning of the story like they did with LoTR I guess.

Maybe they're going to air them in the order they were written instead of chronological order. I think The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobeis more well known than the other books so it makes sense to make a movie based off it first.

Yeah, I know, the thread is old. But I didn't see any reason to start a whole new one when there was already one (actually...two, but one is unaccessible).
You know, I've never understand some people's distaste for bringing up old threads even though the reason was perfectly legitimate and brought something completely new to the subject...
Anyway, they've released The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe promotional pictures and they are AWESOME. Really kind of bleak, but Wardrobe wasn't really that happy and cheery of a book...

One of the banners says Christmas '05... Really long wait (about as much between this post and thr previous one [by me incidentally] ^_^)
*shrugs and walks away*
I have the Voyage of the Dawn Tredor and Prince Caspian. They made a few of the books into movies back in the early 90's or late 80's.
Silver Chair, Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Tredor.
It has been ages since I read the books but the Horse and His Boy was by far my favorite.

They made them into a tv series in the UK, and it used to air on bbcamerica every sunday like... 5 years ago. But as I remember they were very dreary. It used to come on before Dr. Who. lol

It was a TV series? Hmmm. I remember back in elementary school we had a video of "the lion the witch and the wardrobe", and it wasnt a cartoon. So do you think it was that series you speak of, only in a video format?
Anywho, I can't wait for a real movie. :D
I've read every book in the series, and it's really hard to pick my favorite, but I think I enjoyed "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" the most.

Yea, i'm pretty sure it was because I know that we had "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" in Middle School. Of course, what I'm calling a tv series may have been what everybody else is calling movies... But they were only an hour long so I thought they were just adapted to a tv series? *shrug*
Interesting. I shall go and see them. I really liked watching that movie when I was a kid.

I read all but the last book...dunno why that happened. Don't remember much from them...been such a while. Remember them debating whether to eat sandwiches and being thirsty after...
