I remember about a year or two ago, there was this thing called "Digiscents" announced. I saw it in GamePro. It was for consoles, PCs and Tvs. Basically what it did was put smells into what you are watching/playing.
Does anyone know what happened to it? Is it still under development or was it cancelled?
I sounded like a pretty cool idea...

Not a good idea if your playing a game like Resident Evil or something... heh ;) Especially in those bathrooms. :errr: or Eternal Darkness when you're in a place with rotting flesh.
.....k bye

Why would youn want smell put into games? How could that possibly make the game more enjoyable?

Let's put it this way, there wasn't a mass market for themself.
You want a watch a movie with it smelling? Have you ever smelled blood and rotting corpses? Movies like Saving Private Ryan would go from entertainment, to down right disgust. Half their movie audience would puke. War veterans say one of the worst things is the smell. Imagine our WWII vets watching SPR and being reminded by not only the picture and sound, but by the smell. It's not a happy memory.
The concept that they are able to create smells is cool, but there really isn't a use for it.
