Nope, not at all. Sega GT was first for the Dreamcast. Sega GT 2002 will be an Xbox exclusive.

I love the "Garage" feature in Sega GT 2002! How many cars/tracks are suppose to be in Sega GT 2002?

Well the orginal Gt was on Saturn and I thought it was good...in fact I really liked the game. :D
And since I'm not a sports person if I like a racing game it has to have something going for it.

I own the game... and as a person who has owns both a PS2 and X-Box can say that it easily rivals GT3.
Sega GT on DC really did suck, but there is a HUGE difference between it and the sequel.
Sega GT offers more of a short but sweet experience and the game is much easier than GT3. Although it does seems to have a much more arcadey feel to then GT3.
What "I" like about Sega GT 2002 is the fact that there is damage making the game much more realistic, as for example smashing in to a car in GT3 could easily be used to give you an unfair advatage. When playing GT3 I actually found out that it's better in certain situation to hit a wall side ways at full speed then to actually brake and take the turn.
Sega GT 2002 offers a more "fun" collection of cars... such as th Zero, Tipo, 300SL (James Bond's Mercede from the 60s) etc.
Now GT3 RAPES sega GT 2002 when it comes to tuning... Sega GT offers you to tune 3 parts of your car (WTF!!) when GT3 allows you fully play around with ANYTHING you can possibly imagine.
Overall I think Sega GT 2002 is a MORE enjoyable experience at first, but GT3 owns it long term. There is just so MUCH more to pass in GT3... okay the linceses REAlly suck but who cares. Sega GT 2002 on the other hand I beat in 3 days.(Although I didn't put this game down for like 14 hours in row)

That was a very good game. If the Xbox version is half that good then it is worth getting.
