The three families:
Alden
Guy & Crazy Laura (called Crazy because she wears a Star Trek uniform all d@mn day)
their son David and his wife Alice
their other son Marcus(a CEO) and his girlfriend Faith (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
little Billy (the Viagra-created bastard love child of Guy's now dead brother)
John Fox (cousin of David and Marcus who moved in when he fell on hard times)
The Aldens are a typical American family, except of course for the fact that David and Marcus, two full-grown men, still live with their parents “Dallas” style. The Aldens run a company called Alden Railways, which is one of the richest companies in corporate America. Marcus is the CEO of the company. The Aldens live in a mansion in the Sims neighborhood.

It wasn't far into the first season that David and Alice decided they wanted to have a child. However, Crazy Laura felt that one youngin' in the household was enough. She therefore decided that little Billy would have to be eliminated in order to make room for the new baby. She waited one morning until little Billy went to use the makeshift port-everything is-potty in their backyard. While Billy sat on the pot, Crazy Laura forced the game player to remove the door, effectively walling up poor Billy in the port-o-potty.
Now the most unfortunate aspect of this whole scenario is that no one in the Alden family seemed to notice that Billy was missing. In fact, none of them even seemed to hear his constant cries for help. After 50 hours little Billy finally succumbed to starvation. And I thought he'd never shut up. Anyway, everything is okay because nobody loved Billy anyway. Plus, Crazy Laura was able to cash in the urn for a few bucks.
Before David and Alice could have their own child, adoption services called so they accepted a baby from them. For a time everyone in the Alden family was happy with the new baby. For a short time, that is. The family members had been taking turns watching over the baby as he needed almost constant supervision. On the night of Faith's watch something terrible happened. Faith fell asleep on the couch and the baby's cries fell on deaf ears. Once social services learned of the neglect, they came and reclaimed the baby.
Crazy Laura was most upset with the loss of her grandson. So upset in fact that she wanted, no, needed, to exact revenge. She quickly decided that Faith would have to die. After the other family members went to work one morning Crazy Laura lured Faith into the Alden family swimming pool and would not let her get out. At the end of the day Faith's body was found at the bottom of the pool, bloated and lifeless. After a brief period of mourning, Marcus hooked up with Britney Spears and was happy again.
The Celeb family was left running for 6 real-time hours during the night. The next morning, Duke was gone and several items were missing. It is unknown what happened to Duke, the items were most likely taken for the failure to pay some bills.
Life at the Trekkers house was not much easier. After Janeway and Seven died tragically in a fire while grilling hamburgers, Picard and Data moved in with Buffy and Willow. Data and Buffy are now a couple, as Buffy for once needed a boyfriend with some stability, and John Fox moves in to be with Willow.

Even though Haimus was adopted, he and Zefram look like they could be identical twins. Something weird is definitely going on here...
It should also be mentioned that the computer does not distinguish between romantic love and parent-child love. For this reason Guy and David have occasionally slept in the same bed. What gets really creepy is when they all get naked in the hot tub together. It makes for some interesting situations. For example, if Marcus and Britney show affection around Guy and Laura, they'll get jealous. They spent almost an hour just slapping each other around.
Adding to Crazy Laura's dementia is her fixation on hard liquor. In the season finale, David got a little drunk after a hard day at work (he's an actor) and went to bed with whom he thought was his wife, but when he turned on the lights he staring into the face of an equally drunk Crazy Laura! Shocking, isn't it? Begs the question of how long this has been going on.
