Several sites reported that Nintendo has signed a deal with Japanese developer MultiTerm to utilize the game development suite MassPlayer for use with the Nintendo GameCube.

According to MultiTerm representatives, the tools package is ideal for GameCube developers due to its high-speed data processing and server monitoring capabilities.

Is this the first step of many towards online gaming with the GameCube?

They are not being lazy... How can they really make online stuff when Nintendo hasn't got all of its plans down-pat yet? I can kind of see your point, but if I was a developer, I would want to know the full plans before I started to make online games.

They have plans, just no real Nintendo-operated network. I think thats what devs want.

If I remember correctly, Nintendo has given out the code to be able to put online into a game. But I see the point of devs. not wanting to jump in too fast.
