Lying

Just wanted to know what everyone thought about lying?
It seems like I know a lot of people that lie, not here but out of my "friends" and/or acquaintances.
As for me, I don't like people that lie, so I have no interest in it.

oh and another question...
Have you ever gotten in a big fight (or just a fight) with a friend because they lied, you lied, or you were too truthful with them?

Even though I had an awesome week this week, I got into a fight with two of my friends. Well lets just say we're not the best of friends anymore all because either they lied or I was too truthful with them. hehe oh well life goes on.

I don't like it when people lie to me (depending what kind of lie), so I don't lie to other people. And I've never been in a fight because of someone that lied to me.

I have seen too many really good friendships broken up because of people lying and whatnot. So now I just do not care. If somebody lies to me, I'll find out the truth sooner or later.


Oh, but I lie to my parents on a daily basis. I mean, when they ask me what I am going to do tonight, you really think I am going to say that I will be smoking some marijuana or possibly drinking alcohol? No. I just say that we are going to the movies... But then again, friends and parents are alot different, or at least for me they are.

but i don't like if people lie to me, if it's friends then they'll eventually end up telling me the truth, so whatever.

i lie to alot of people, esspecially to my parents:rolleyes: but then again who doesn't.

I believe in being honest...

I don't like lieing, unless it only helps the situation...for instance, if this friend, say it's a girl, walks up to me and asks how I like her new haircut, and even though I might think it looks like crap, I'd say something like "It looks alright".

Those are like the only times that I am very truthfull. Haha... If somebody gets a bad haircut or is wearing something stupid, I will tell them. Some people like that, some people hate it. Oh well.

Its pretty hypocritical to say you hate people who lie. Of coarse you dont like when people lie to you, you must hate yourself for it. But is ok, your human.

I think nearly everybody in this forum lies.......whether it's to another person........or to themselves.

So I hate being lied to, but once I find the truth I let the parties involved know of the situation.

And also there is different extents of lying. So yeh.

I think I probably lie at least once every day. Generally speaking, most days likely have more lies than that.

Sometimes it's to get out of trouble (or prevent it), sometimes it's to spare someone's feelings, and so on and yadda yadda.

Mine is ussualy to prevent it. Because my mom worries about everything, ussualy hings she dosnt understand and just thinks it sounds bad.

I generally try not to lie at all...but a sometimes I fall short....but one thing I never do is lie to my parents...that's because I have an open relationship with them ( well atleast my mom)

You guys might not believe it...but I can tell my mom anything.........if I had sex,drove fast ( don't do that anymore either) drank ( don't drink anymore...in fact when I drank I didn't use to drink much cause most of the time I was the designated driver)...blah blah.......

Now I know alot of people might not believe what I'm gonna say now...but I could have sex in the house when my mom is at home......and she doesn't really mind. Her reason?? My bedroom is better than parking out and getting robbed/beaten or me going to the girl's house and getting caught in the act,. :D


Btw my Mom nags the hell outa me sometimes...but I tease and annoy her all the time so I think we're even. :D
Man if any of you guys had my mom trust me you would love her.

Yeesh. I just noticed this. I don't know how you do that. I could never share with my mom anything as personal as sex or something like that (even though i probably won't experience it for years. ;)) It'd just be too awkward.

i generally try to be as honest as possible. but sometimes i do lie. i generally live by a don't ask don't tell policy, and if i can't say something nice i don't say anything at all...unless i get really pissed.
