I hate rushing. It never let's you build a good camp or cool units. I like a big and varied army not 1 of a hero and 3 basic units. :(
The worst thing is, you can't really defend yourself against it. The only defence against it is rushing yourself... :(

My tactic to stop this is start pumping out alota footmen (or whatever your shock troopers are for the side your playing) and build alota towers at the start. That should at lease fent them of so you dont die a slow and painfull death.

You mean a fast and painful death.
That's rushing what you describe, plus building some towers. but right when you've fought off the first attack, the second is already on it's way.
Oh well, I'm getting better at it. My problem is that I'm not offensive enough. I keep thinking 'No I need a bigger army'. :(

Now we see the beauty of Night Elves.
If you build your moon wells near the front of the base, you can easily fend off a rush of say 5 footmen and Hero with 3 archers and a Hero.

Hmm... it's hard to start a second base bacause you have to defend it too. hmm... I rather let them destroy it and let them come to my 1st base with a real defence (Orc towers rule!!) :D
rule 1 or WC3: first one to attack wins. :distress:

Hehe angrist. i have the same prob as u but if the game goes on longer they usually manage to wipe me out anyways so i can't win either way :(. But in this on really long game that went on forever, it wuz 4v4 on a map that had 4 gold mines in the middle and a bunch of other ones and 2 of my guys dropped off, one at the start and one a little later and the enemie had all 4 and every gold mine cept one that my ally had. Well funnything is i only had 8 shamans, 4 docs, 2 grunts a hero and 6 or 7 tarun.... a lot u say? well not that much when 4 guys each have that and are in a group. how did i win u say? well we just held out in our bases and fended em off till they ran outa gold :p it eventually did (yay for burrows, they helped a lot) and they sent a little forces at a time and they got to a point where they have no gold and no forces and sum left and we wasted the others ;) just goes to show ya it pays to hold out.

lol
That reminds me of a game that my brother played before we went on vacation. It was a 3vs3 game. 1 of his allies lagged out, the other one left after the first attack and things didn't look to good for my bro. But he did have a HUGE defence, like 15 (Orc) towers in 2 bases. So the enemies all got their units killed there. When only 1 enemy was left, he attacked with about 10 meat weagons. My bro wiped them out with just one group of units, the fool didn't defend his wagons. Then we saw that he was running out of gold so he attacked and he won. His allies wouldn't have suspected that they could have won. :D

Angrist, just think about it for a while and you'll find a way to counter it.:D
