Well?

Ive been thinking about getting my cube colored for awhile now (and colorconsoles.com is currently closed. If it weren't I proably would have had it done by now)

If you did have it colored, what was your experance? How does it look? are their problems with the overall quality? how long did it take? is the colored led worth it?

I know gamespot and ign have reviewed it but I'd rather hear an opinion from someone who actually had to pay to have it done :p

ColorConsoles blows chunks. I've seen a console with it done, they suck. Paint runs, now the paint is peeling too. They do a horrible job. Thankfully they are closed, but they plan to expand and reopen, so beware.

IGN and GameSpot review their service, of course they'll do a good job. If IGN sent me their cube to color I would probably screw up and even buy them a new cube and color that.

And it took this guy I know 2 months to get his GC back. And if you get it modded by them, they put the switch on the side, so you can have an ugly plastic switch where everyone can see.

Avoid CC at all costs. It's an operation run by this guy out of his parent's basement. Him and a bunch of buddies (not professional painters by any means) run the crap.

I once took my (old and broken) N64 apart. Then someone here suggested to paint it, but I haven't done it yet. I'd like to have a gold/silver one. :D

I would never trust sending my GameCube away to someone I don't even know...
Besides, I'm happy with Indigo. :D

I like the color choices they have, but I dont like how they make it "sparkly" or whatever word it is that they add. If I want red, I just want red. Not some shiny red or whatever. The only thing I want done to mine is the switch. But Im not about to send it off.:sneaky:

I could probably do a better job with finger painting.

You mean some kind of glitter effect? Sweet! I'm looking for that kind of paint for my N64. Yes it's still apart... I wonder if it still works (I repaired it a year ago).

I think the glitterness looks really good on like... the gold and silver colors... and black too...

And gekko, you think everything sucks... ;)

My cousin had his N64 painted at that site and it's total ****. The paint cracks and peels, and it's not worth any of the money. Like gekko said, it's probably run by some kid out of his parent's basement.

The paint that colorconsole.com uses cracks and peels over time, so it may look good when you finally get your console back, but in the long haul it's a scam from hell.
