A fad? It started like... In 1993... So if the little date at the bottom of the card is right, it's been going for almost 10 years now :p (And they recently released the magic online game yep)...

I play it (obviously) as do a couple people I know (and more I don't that they do... I'll have to play magic with them sometime (^-^ )

It's fun... it's not too complicated... it may seem like it at first, but once you get the hang of things it seems pretty simple, really... Yep... it's fun...

A lot of my friends play this game. I've sat in on a few but I still can't get the concept and why people find it so addicting.
So no I don't play Magic the Game... lol

I like collecting the cards and trying to build a big deck... and stuff... if you just watch, or only use a friend's deck, you don't get the full effect of the fun... Because like a big part of it, IMO, is actually owning things and mapping out strategies and building your decks around things... Certain cards, or certain types of cards (Direct damage, Counterspells, certain types of creatures, etc)... Yep...

I mean of course some people still wouldn't like it, but still :p

no no no. you see, it's quite simple actually
these cards are actually very technologically advanced because, you see, they secret an odorless, practically invisible form of nicotine that seeps into the bloodstream through the skin, you see?

so, you see, you start playing, and it's really hard to quit.
before ya know it you're going through 5 (booster) packs a day.
everyone looks at you like a loser, not to mention what it does to the body *hack* *wheeze*
man i need to quit.... yet, you see, i really need my magic fix

you see?

not to mention the fact that a beta black lotus is worth somewhere around 400$ (at least it was, i haven't played for two years)

I stopped playing because I got sick of the whole "ok, it's been 18 months, now you must buy new cards cause we just made yours worthless" BS that WOCT kept churning out.

How do they make them worthless? I know that they ban cards sometimes because they end up becoming way too powerful and stuff, but like if you're just playing with friends, chances are none of them would really care... at least that's how it is around here O.o

But if you play in tournaments or like at Wizards of the Coast stores then they might be like "NOOO YOU CANNOT PLAY *locks the store up* YOU CANNOT LEAVE BEFORE BUYING MORE CARDS AHAHAHAHAHAHA!" or something :D

I bought a 2 player starter deck a few years ago which I played about 3 games with. I never really got into it that much.

Does anybody remember the ads for it? They were pretty creepy, I thought it was some kind of Voodoo or something when I saw them.
