I wasn't going to post about this, but I decided that should....
Basically, w/o going into detail. On the 4th of July I came back from buying a new game (GTA3, finally). I went in my room to find my Ps2 disk drive had been broken.
For a more detailed story talk to me on AIM.
If I find a place where I can get it repaired, I will have it fixed in about a month, if not, late August I will get a new Ps2 all-together.

Well, good luck! I'd be mourning if my 'Cube went shot.

I had my PS2 break once, but it was because of a fall.
I send it to the service and I had to call them up 6 or 7 times to get them to fix it.
To make a long story short, it took like 2 months.

Ouchie, that has got to suck.
Post how it broke, unless it just happened because of nothing.
My PS2 almost broke once. But all is well now. :)

Somebody broke into my house and stole my PS2 once (few months ago), but I got a new one, so in the words of Joeiss... "all is well now. :)"

I wasn't there to see it break, but from what my cousins say they were wrestling in my room and landed on the CD tray.
Dumb kids, I wonder where they got the idea of indoor wrestling anyway :sneaky:
*writes down another reason why top loading trays are better*

My PS2 fell of a table once. It landed right on it's front (where the loading tray is). All I had to do was push in the tray really really hard. Then it worked.
TheGame, does the PS2 say that there is not a disk found in the machine? If so, tell me. I think I know how to fix your problem.

Top loading trays are always better. The main reason for me is that I don't have to worry about the motor going shot. But I guess that would take alot of opening and closing to blow the motor. Bust also, I like them cuz if my 'Cube's top loading thing fails, I can just find a way to remove the spring (I think that would work fine:unsure: )

before we went on Vacation for 2 weeks... my dumbass bro left the Ps2 on for 2 weeks. When we came back it the fan wouldn't work and it overheated like crazy. We had to by a god damn new one. When I finally did buy another one... one week later the price went down to $199.
... I wuz really really really pissed off:-o
